"Program Music" In Trance or other EDM

Just wondering if anyone thinks it would be a cool idea or knows if someone already does create program music with EDM? particularly trance, as it seems to fit in the best. I recently read about it in my book for my Understanding Music class at my school, and it talks about program music as instrumental music associated with a story, poem, idea or scene (often used in the Romantic period).I think it would be cool to know and or create trance music, even mixes, where it was based on something i've wrote, an idea (philosophical, spiritual, a world event) or a poem and movie. I know there's a few EDM producers who've also done soundtrack work, but i'm talking about mixes (DJ mixing tracks to tell a story through the songs, making a mix based on a movie, book, piece of art etc) and tunes, albums etc. I was just thinking this would be a really cool idea, make it conceptual. I know there must be some intent out there to do this...

I think it would be cool for more DJs to do soundtrack work in both the mixing and production department. I only know of one CD "Swordfish" by Paul Oakenfold which was really close to what I'm looking for. Or Tiesto's "Parade Of Athletes" and "Tiesto In Concert" but that's only scratching the surface of what it could be. Even though I haven't seen it, Cirque de Soleil (like Delirium, Varekai) is the closest to what I am looking for that could be done with this music, but from what i've heard of that stuff, it's more world beat and a little bit of house, not quite trance.

oakie did a series of radio shows back in the day called... "urban soundtracks" where he played music to spoken storytellers of famous books and fairytales...

they're pretty cool...

Sounds cool, must have missed those...I've often thought when I get to finishing all these stories I have and ideas, to get a bunch of tunes together and create a soundtrack to them, and or work with some CGI artists in the future and create really good CGI films like those "Minds Eye" and "Beyond The Minds Eye" with trance music, and perhaps some downtempo and prog. There is this DVD I have somewhere like this, but the music sucked in my opinion, and the visuals. It would also be cool to have a live thing, like Cirque de Soleil.
