Mitsutranza;
heh man i can only hope to make it to 1/10 of where i'd like to be by 3-4 years, anywho u know me I be sacraficing the hours regardless, can't chill at urs for more than an hour without getting inspired :P
dj charlie;
heavier sounds, yeah i'll definately have to come around engineering more prominent sounds who rest tighter. Bassdrums could be very hard to make up though, could take me days to make one up from many different samples, but that's only coz i like to make my own.
Ceala;
Cheers for the happy b-day :D My next one should be a proper bash with juan on ableton and hopefully (fingers crossed) mitsu on the visuals, and i agree my bassdrum is too plastic for the solid mtl crowd :D
Ninjahola;
cheers m8, if you ever plan to pass by ottowa and don't mind me loading you up with demos let me know ;)
dj ugo;
About your feeling question, it's very hard to answer because my track was a intuitive production, not really a conceptual, so i didnt have one specific "vision" but worked with ideas i've developed over the time. This is probably why my track lacks the groove the industry wants, people dont want ideas they want bent ideas with style. Why do you ask though? Do you feel something? :haha: |

Menage a trois' are nice...:)
Juan's a lazy mofo, I've been telling him about TA for the past year but nothing...:whip:
Don't worry tho, he'll start posting soon. :D
Keep making those tracks Moe, I dont know if you ever envision where your production could be played and would sound best in...like this one would fit in (as it is) in an acid lounge very nicely..
Think club next time :disbelief and then we can hear some :eyespop:ing basslines that will make all TAs be like :wtf:

who is Mayo???
im using Cubase
i hate programs like reason
its so limited and u cant imagine the difference of sound it makes just by getting the sound out of cubase instead of reason
i convinced, in a matter of a year lets say, my best friend to use cubase and when he finally accepted to try, it took me 30 minutes to learn him the basics and he has never touched reason again
i have to get a better computer though cause it gets hard to finish a track when it has more than 2 or 3 vst and lets say 10 samples...
its running on 333ddr memory so its not fast enough for cubase
imo never think about doing something for some people... if ure not into making house or more accessible music dont force it anyway im sure if u even try to, it wont come out as something u would have like to create... i speak for myself but when i try to make housy tracks and ask people what they think about it they say nice electro track:p |

Reason is the lamest program on earth if you don't know it too well, you really have to grasp the wiring, it really makes you more independant as a producer too. I mean you can rewire it onto cubase/ableton and use vsts, apart from that you can implement your vsts onto your waves and then export those same waves into reason. But its just amazing, you can route so many devices in the way you want and not worry about your hardware getting fried. Besides, i prefer working with midi sequencers over audio ones.
But still, it doesnt matter what program you use to produce don't you think? No need for software politix. Its a matter of how well you represent and balance all the frequencies in our audible sound spectrum, not what program you used with what plugins and with who or when. Its also about how well you know your equipment, sound, edm ideas, and of course how you plan on exploiting them to satisfy yer catastrophic sound abusive imagination. James holden made his first single horizons on a freeware app, stormed the scene and made everyone realise you don't need an expensive studio to make a track but more like a collection of ideas.
2/3 Vsts at a time? Sounds to me you need an upgrade ;)
I need to learn logic someday, i'll just wait to get slapped with a 60320page manual. :toothless |
