Ok I am considering Ableton because I am getting pissed at Virtual DJ only adjusting pitch in +/- 0.1% increments. Any Ableton users, what pitch increments does this program operate on? Because I want to be able to match the speed of my vinyls.

Hehe your lucky there has just been a thread about not attacking people like you.
Download the demo but i belive it is .01
Its not like your normal djing though.
Just get the demo...

i got the demo... very complicated... i was gonna get ableton, but ended up getting serato scratch instead. i will get ableton over the summer when i have more time to learn how to use it ~ being in school and working 2 jobs doesnt give me much free time...

All good I don't mind the flamers. Everyone's gotta start somewhere. Thanks for the input, 0.01 is good, but not normal DJing?? :nervous: I'll have to get the demo and try it out.

That's right Ableton doesn't use the traditional DJ paradigm, but rather you need to work out your sets before hand and warp all of your loops by hand before you can do a set with it. And when you do a set with it you don't have to beatmatch you just launch the parts you want when you want, etc...

Well, since you're not using pitch to beatmatch in Ableton the .01 doesn't really matter. I mean it's only used to set the speed of your whole set - not individual tracks - so the increment size is no big deal.

He wants to beatmatch to his vinyl.
So yes incriments do matter.

Can I even use Ableton with my TT's? I just got the demo, definatly not a get up an go program. There's a significant learning curve at least for me. Do I have to plan out my entire set beforehand? :sadgreen: That kinda sucks, I guess i could press pause on Ableton after done mixing into a vinyl. Maybe there's another program out there? I'm really just trying to use a computer program with accurate pitch modulation instead of CDJ's.

Then you should use Traktor.

Pioneer has a new software that emulates the CDJ-1000's. Check that out. it might work better for what you are trying to do.
