So far I've listened to 6 ableton sets of theirs and they are all extremely bland, especially considering they're 1)playing their own , and 2)Because of 1, have all the individual parts to all their tracks.
So I would expext some amazing mixes/mashups/blending.
Instead its one track into the next...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
All the pics/video I've seen show Josh doing more on the laptop. I've never seen them so I dunno.
In any case my next mix is gonna pwn anything they've done. :wtf: |

I agree with everything you just said m8, all I'm saying is that Dave does the mixing.
Josh seriously just opens the next track in Ableton, lines up the markers, and clicks "play" and Dave goes to town on the mixer (We stood right above and behind the guys at Vision in December, so it was pretty clear to pick out what was going on in their mixes). Almost all of their mixes drop all the way into the "kick, snare, kick, snare" category and really are rather blande and uninteresting. For the most part I've been bored to tears by them lately. They don't even come close to really utilizing Ableton, and if anything, it's a rip off, becuase they're sets appear to be seriously preprogrammed and the mixing seems as though it's almost on "autopilot."
But Dave takes a lot of for being worthless, and I guess I didn't want Josh getting more credit than he deserves ;) |
