Yes, if they truly care about the reputation, and well-being of their religion, they should denounce these acts.

Thank you Bush thank you.Now the Iraqis are "free" to kill eachother and the freedom to vote.

and yet this administration continues to support their cause and telling everyone how everything is going fine and smoothly.

p.s. I have a feeling that Bush will blame the civil war on Iran somehow and will try to convince the world once again how evil they are.:o

Dude, we are there, give it a rest. Our country was consumed with so much of your "Blaming" bull, that we couldn't see this comming. Open your eyes and stop living in the past. These people need our help, and your criticism isn't going to do any good.

Problems like:

1. Supporing Saddam and helping him come to power, a brutal dictor is in charge now.

2. Selling him chemical weapons which he uses to gas the kurds.

3. Turning a blind eye to this attrocity and declaring satisfactry relations between US and Iraq and normal diplomatic ties continue.

4. Imposing sanction when the CIA asset Saddam disobeys orders and over half a million dead Iraqi children die. Destorying much of the infrastructure during Gulf War 1. Iraq had a literacy rate of over 92% and was on the verge of becoming a first world nation, this didn't happen though, thanks to the US.

5. Manipulating the 9-11 tragedy and decieving the public to go to War based on false pretence.

6. Tons of War crimes taking place in Iraq as we speak. Surprisingly the Abu Gharib case makes it into the media.

7. American and transnational corperations have control of Iraq's oil fields and are one of the first sites to be secured.

8. Making Iraq a training camp and recruitment center for terroists.

Clearly, the US has played an active role in making the lives of the Iraqi people much better (like it's their place to decide what good for other nations in the first place) and has taken full responsibilty for their actions . Why should we have any faith in any noble intentions any administrations claims to have?

Saddam Hussein was a sorry excuse for a leader, and he had to go, but the way the war war carried out in such a rushed & irresponsible manner with no respect for the countries history or the different factions was just wrong. As I said earlier the mistakes are:

1) The U.S. disrespected the rest of the world on this issue, and now we are mostly fighting this issue on our own.
2) Saddam Hussein was actually helped by a previous Republican administration ( Reagan ) trying to control countries in the Middle East.
3) There were loopholes in the sanctions, especially when it came to oil trade, that should have been fixed. The real reasons for sanctions is to starve the government.
4) The Bush administration twisted intelligence to sell the war.
5) Bush disrespected our military by having suck up appointees carry out everything involving Iraq, instead of real leaders in our military.
Notice Colin Powell disappeared because the Bush Administration didn't respect any of his opinions.

6) THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A JOINT EFFORT WITH MUSLIM COUNTRIES THAT WOULD HELP REBUILD A PEACEFUL IRAQ & REMOVE AN ABUSIVE DICTATOR.
Then no one could be calling us imperialistic, or invaders, and there wouldn't be the growing anti american sentiment in the world, especially the Middle East that we see now.

the key word is 'sell'.

You answered you own question as to why US went all alone. Because whole world beleives there was no reason to invade Iraq at first place. And they are right. You tell me why should US invade Iraq if not for WMDs?

If its for his atrocities on people, cruelty and blah blah blah... than go to North Korea, Sudan, Libya, Mayanmar (Burma) and many more in Africa first. Iraq was a very very decent well to live in country; with a hell lot of better quality of life than the countries mentioned.

Life clearly was better in Iraq before this invasion, under the rule of Saddam, than what it is now. US clearly failed in every single aspect of this fake phoney war on Terrorism. And still you guys havent learnt a single lesson out of it and stil you want to repeat everything all over again in Iran.

7) I would have reeeeally appreciated actually catching the little who attacked us on 9/11 before thinking about moving our troops off elsewhere to invade another country based on horrible and possibly manipulated intelligence.

8) In addition to #5, it also would have helped if Bush would have correctly protected our troops with full body and vehicle armour, rather than the families of those brave soldiers having ing bake sales to buy their God damn body protection for them.

9) In addition to #5, having enough troops to fully secure highly dangerous areas like al Qa qaa so we wouldn't be seeing explosives from those unsecure facilities being used to blow off the limbs and heads of our troops. Having adequate troop levels to fully secure the region as a whole, including proper border patrol would be a nice little "bonus" as well

*In general, unfortunately this whole situation is unfolding exactly as many of us "crazy" Lefties had predicted some time ago, along with a few true Conservatives (and Libertarians) to boot. Civil war was already afoot - it was merely on simmer by and large. Having our troops caught in the middle of these 2 fighting factions, or in truth, having our troops more or less on the side of the ruling majority Shiite faction is the last place they want to be here. It's a plain ing mess, and if this doesn't simmer down fast it's going to explode completely out of control.

If that occurs, we will have no choice but to redeploy our troops, have them wait on the sidelines, and see if any improvement occurs. I have my sincere doubts even with that strategy, but I see that as the likely scenario by Bush should this get worse (and it will).

I agree. Osama Bin Ladin is definately laughing at us now.
The war in Iraq is costing us more economic damage than he did, and alot of lives too. He's probably chilling back in some cave right now smoking Cuban Cigars.
