I can't beleive no one has said LA confidential!!!, such a good movie.

Well, I can't think of ten movies right now, but here are some good ones in no particular order.

LA Confidential
City of God
American Beauty
Platoon
Matrix 1

Oh yeah and a great movie that I saw lately, but I don't know if its good enough to put in the list is, Syrianna. Its got some really interesting geo-political illustrations in it. Check it out if you haven't!

Has anyone seen Constant Gardener? It's the English directing debut from the same guy who directed City of God.
DJ Lucas

I saw that movie just a month or two ago, its pretty incredible - not like one of those stupid superficial movies you forget after a week

City of God is one of the finest produced movies I've had the pleasure to watch, a masterpiece without a doubt. Just a few of my favorite movies.

Casino , Goodfellas, The Godfather (Mafia classic)
Juice (2pac's best performance)
Stigmata (the message made me cry, it made so much sense)
Dot be a menace to south central while drinking your juice in da hood
King of New York (Christopher Wallace's breakthrough performance)
Man on fire (Denzel's performance was amazing)
Passion of Christ (made me :( and cry)

I hope you guys had a chance to watch these movies. I'll admit to being a emotional at times. But once in a while a great movie comes along that stirs up my emotions, I'm only being honest and I'm there is no need to act tough on a internet forum. I was just expressing my true feelings about each movie, you can call me a bitch if you want I don't care. If your planning to rent a movie for the weekend and watch it with that special someone, I would recommend the ones on the list, depending on your taste.

Christopher Walken maybe? Wouldnt call it breakthrough being that he had already "broke " thru with "The Deer Hunter" years earlier......

Havent seen "Traffic" posted or the award winning "Super Troopers"!!!

I stand corrected, I can't believe I used Biggie's name instead of Christopher Walken's :stongue: Thanks for pointing that out man. He was great in Deer Hunter but my favorite performance of his was in King of New York hands down. I shouldve said favorite performance and not breakthrough, my bad about that , thanks for pointing that out Gillis Maximus.

No worries .....just my vast wealth of worthless knowledge rearing it's ugly head. Abel Ferrara hasnt directed anything worth a since this flick unless u count "Bad Lieutenant" .....
