Hey there,
You can use automation to control just about anything in Reason. I usually record the changes live. Say for example you have a loop playing on the subtractor and you want to open the filter cut-off on the synth over 32 beats. All you do is click to the left of the subtractor on the sequencer track so that a little plug icon appears. Then hit record, then hit play, then open up the filter as you want it to sound. Hit stop, go back and hit play again. Now your changes will be automated and the filter will open up as you recorded it. You can do this with every parameter on every device (practically) in Reason, including the mixer and effects. Just make sure you create a sequencer track for it. You can also draw automation in automatically, but I find it's confusing to know which direction you're drawing in sometimes. Hope that jumbled explanation helps. |
