Very Nice Mix, Dave .. Ok.. But I got some questions..
1) Is this the more progessive sound everyone is talking about ( I really am asking ) not to sound like a noob but I ( Attempt to ) spin house and this would be like the dark side of trance...
2) how do i get a copy of tracks 3 to 6 ... I like the vocal on Track 5 .. but it's just me.
3) and Lastly ... Very well blended and great track selection . I now know where to start. |

Not really. Sam Sharp, J00F, Marco V, Sander van Doorn are trance.
Examples of progressive producers would be Thomas Penton, Max Graham, Deep Dish, Chris Micali, and so forth. |

Thank you sir,
Here are some answers:
01 This is not Progressive in the least. Its Trance for all intents and purposes...but mostly "Tech Trance" with some exceptions here and there. Sander Van Doorn is my main inspiration right now and his sound is so unique its hard to pin it down.
02 I scored my tracks 4, 5, and 6 through online shops (chemical and 4djsonly) but was given number 3.
03 Thank you again its much appreciated. Good to see something good coming out of all the frustration I had been through. |

I used 2 Denon DNS-1000s, 2 Technics 1200 M5Gs, & a Xone:92 sent into Adobe Audition for recording, then tweaked via Cubase SX3.
It was a straight recording though...no edits. |

You were at H2O?! Thanks for coming out and supporting. I played more Techy that night because Kyzer was in town and we were playing after Tarek.
Come say what's up to me next time. I'll get you a couple drinks on the house and give you a tracked CD in case your Roxio is still messed up.
Thank you for the positive feedback too. It means a lot. |

I haven't made it to H2O yet, just snagged/stole your mix from the down-load here, but definately plan on making it to H20.
Been to Antro for a couple of the spec. events, just figuring out the SA scene, given up for the most part of finding a club that caters to a more progressive scene (read that I HATE RAP!, first rap song we're out.)

LOL
I hear you Bro. There's a lot of good stuff in SA going on if you're into electronic music. I run H2O on Wednesdays and consult on their Friday nights. I also just became the Sunday resident over at Suede, which plays only electronic music...Rap will never touch their speakers. That place is THE place to be right now on Saturdays.
Hit up teknosounds.com and globalbeatz.net if you want up to date information on the weeklies going on. Hit me up next time you're going out and I'll show you guys around. |
