Ownage...

First time seeing JZ and it was the best night in recent memory.Sick mixing (obviously) and insane scratching/looping/fx....His set started off rather mellow and then started to pick up around 12:30. It was mostly quality tech house and acid influenced house with a couple of breakbeat tracks mixed in. The track selection was top notch and the energy was great especially the second hour of his set and what an ending to the night with that display of insanity by JZ after 2am.It was great to meet Shamez and his friend and to see Goochman as well as Stasis..

Trainspots:

James Zabiela - Robophobia (Acapella)
Luke Dzierzek - Echo (John Dahlback Mix)
Luke Dzierzek - Echo (Original Mix) Rob Mooney - Feeling Electro

Time to pass out as I'm dehydrated as hell from dancing and haven't been feeling well all day...

Come back soon JZ...

lol I will copy what I typed in the other thread:

" great show. My conclusion:

Ended up going alone
Didnt meet any TA's
Did not dance (I was snowboarding all day and had rough leg workout in the morning)

The music was amazing. My first time seeing a DJ of that class play and it was great.

Shook James hand after the show and headed out home.

Definately planning on going to Deep Dish or Ferry. Probably both =)

Hope to meet some of you next time"

Aiyiyiyiyiyi! 3 hours and 15 minutes. Maybe I shouldn't have sped? :clown:

As for the night, dope! Not the same quality as Pacha last week, but that was to be expected since this was 2 hours and that was 5. I must say though that the last 20 minutes or so of his set rivaled that of the last 20 minutes of his '04 EMix. He started playing realllllllll mellow towards the end. I love that . I wish more DJs would play stuff like that. And that encore... I don't even understand that that he does sometimes. Like... he made it into a breakbeat. !!! Ahhhhhh!!!

Great meeting Patrick and Mike. Patrick, honestly, I think I'd still be wandering around Boston trying to find my way out of there if it weren't for you. So much thanks!!! Totally appreciated.

I'll probably head back there during the summer if there's a show I'm interested in.

Words can't even describe how sick it was, i think he's not human
all this robot stuff I mean he has to be one of them right??

I never stopped dancing throughout the whole night (except once to take a piss and get water)

AFter it was all over, I shook his hand and told him "tiesto has nothing on you"

he blushed (i think) :tongue2 and countered with "well tiesto is playing in front of 6,000 people tonight" and I thought to myself, james this is way better

come back again zabs!

it wasn't as a sausage fest as I expected, there were some females (we need more damn it! :toothless)

anyway, it's 8:20AM and I have a midterm to take in about 90 min
wish me luck

I was there too and JZ was so impressive! I've never seen anyone scratch and have such enthusiastic crowd interaction as he does. Did anyone take any decent pictures or videos and care to share? He was bopping his head and moving around so much that all my pics came out blurry... hee.

So what's the name of the breaks track that both the opener and Zabs played with the chopped up vocal? I've heard it before, but I am the worst at naming/recognizing tracks.

EDIT: It's the track that starts at 12:13 and ends at 18:30 in the set JZ has up on his site here: Zabiela set link

Dahippieman posted the tracklist on ravelizards, but that board is own right now.

No problem man. Boston is confusing as hell. Hit me up next time you're in town.:)

I'm gonna ask melee what that track you were wondering about was. I think he did a good job of opening. Not many people play breaks in Boston like that. JZ is just pure amazing. I wish I had more energy last night because after 1 he was dropping bomb after bomb and that Feeling Electro track really sounded good on Axis's system :eyespop: I think it's great to have a dj like JZ in axis where u can see what he's doing and he can really interact with the crowd. Nick Warren and Dave Seaman upcoming should be fun nights in there as well.

If anyones not doing anything tonight they should come out to 360 in Boston. Two of my friends are spinning the beats there tonight. Drop me a line if you're interested.

And how about NO ONE dancing despite the opener dropping sick break after sick break!?!?!?!

:wtf: :p

For real though, that opener played some dope ass breaks. Two weeks of breaks at a club is overload to me. That's never happened before.

Mylo - Rikki, no idea what remix he played, I still wish I could've gone:whip:
He played the same track last week at Pacha too.

So add to that:

Mylo - Rikki (breaks remix) (I'm sure we'll have a name for that once the ravelizards forum is back)
Jon Gurd - Lemon Sherbert

Also... the last track from that DEEA set that JZ posted up.
