so I'm going to be recording my set tomorrow night at a party and just realized that I don't know how to turn off the onboard mic while leaving the line-in on on my Powerbook. Anyone know how to do this? Thanks. |

You could just set it to record only the line in?
Open up the Windows (I hope you're not on a Mac!) volume control, go to Options then Properties.
Select "Recording" (it'll be on Playback by default) and a list of 'tickable' boxes will appear beneath it. Make sure line in is ticked! Now press OK and select line in on the record control.
This should now ONLY record the line in...by default, the record control is set to microphone. I assume you're recording straight to your PC?
I dunno if this helps, buddy! If not, please be more specific. :D Take care. |

R U using osx?
if so, open the System preferences icon. Click on Sound, then on input! Click on line-in & that is all folks! |
