I am definately expecting cheese here.
But... *listens*
Definately an old sounding bassline.
Pretty groovy percussion section. I'm kinda getting a Sander Klienberg feel a little bit. Just a little bit.
1.50
More of your melody coming in. This is definately a different sort of intro.
Pretty ok pad. Not to shabby. 2.26
2.31, Back into the beat. More melody and more pad/string effects. Carefull to not make it too busy.
I'm not entirely sure this is uplifting yet.
3.39: k everything is sorta dropping out.
5:00 You changed up the melodic progression. You really need to rethink your chords and progression because there isn't too much going on or changing to be said yet.
The panning on everything is pretty cool.
6:00 Uhh. Very different from what I'm "used" to hearing as far as melodies changing and stuff.
Keep up the good work... but it needs a re-thinking in the melody department. And perhaps make it a bit shorter.
6 outta 10
edit: YAWN. not to be terribly rude. But it wasn't uplifting at all. I was WAITING to be uplifted. It was quite "progressive" actually. |

cheers for the review DJfreaq...yeah i suppose its more of a sad sounding, meloncholic song than uplifting,hehe... the main melody needs sorting out imo, either shortening the build up or putting more synths FX over it - although i was pretty happy with the Bassline & percussions :) |

Sorting out. Perfectly said. It sounds like you can't decided where to go with it at some points.
The percussion is definately groovy. And the bass is pretty darn good. But sort out that melody! It can be minor-key and sad and still be UPLIFTING.
A classic cheese trance cut would be Firewall - Sincere (Pulser Mix). Minor sad keys, but very uplifting.
EDIT:
Also curious. I'd like some more details on HOW you made the track. Like what program did you use effects etc. |

Oh yeah i agree..there are so many sad but uplifting songs out there-its just about gettig the melody right ;)
i produce all my stuff using just Logic 7....yeah i think i'll just leave that song alone now & go on to bigger & better things :) I guess it was just another one of my 'experimental' efforts hehe... |

Ahh Logic 7. I rue the day Apple bought emagic. Well. Good luck with future endevours. Experimenting is how we all learn. |
