I was going to throw "Acperience" in there, but I couldn't really fit it in, and it's a bit heavy for the uninitiated. |

I dunno.. I think psy is more of an aquired taste. At least for me it was. I remember when I first got into trance, I was completely turned off by any kind of psy or goa. It bored me to death. I only hooked on the melodic and emotional stuff, the rest came after. |

| I don't try to force my non EDM friends to listen to my EDM collection. I think everyone should have an open mind, I won't force my friends to listen to EDM, if they want to listen to some of my stuff, then I'll let them borrow it. |

This is the downside to most psy trance. It's hard to find stuff that is both psychedelic but dynamic and soft around the edges.

But at least you knew it existed. It actually took me forever to figure out, "hey, there's this nifty trippy music out there that no one ever told me about!" I kinda wish I had been introduced to it earlier. At least some of the goa stuff.
The way I see it, I used to hate Sasha - Xpander, but I was exposed to it early on. I knew about it, though and was able to go back and enjoy it once I had learned more. Starting out disliking something doesn't make it impossible to ever like it.
On the other hand, if someone were to only be drawn in by the acid or psy sound (I'm thinking people into metal, EBM, Industrial), they wouldn't be quite so attracted by songs like Netherworld, ResuRection or Cafe del Mar.
Then again, it's hard to find psy that fits, as I've said, so I understand the lack of it. |

yeah my oppinion as well!
if you force them they won't listen to it properly! sometimes my friends give me some metal cds (like freedom call or six feet under) and i give them a mix cd of mine! works well everytime - and most of the time i also enjoy their music collections! |

Same here. I used to try and "convert" people but I realised there isn't really much point in that. Let people listen to what they like... |

+1
Although if you're not convinced, I always found it easiest to start w/ chillout compilations vs. ones w/ a lot of energy, when introducing ppl to the genre. |

I really don't care about intruducing EDM to my friends anymore. I've given up a long time ago explaining the difference between trance and techno.
EDM haters are like creationists. There's no helping it. |
