Mississippi now is also near certain to pass an outright ban on abortions, like SD.

Well isnt he an introspective guy.

Considering, I don't think this will make much of a direct impact on the issue other than general influence. |

Like all the people living in Mississippi's Gulf Coast in tents really care about banning abortion when they still don't have a home. Typical Republican trick to start culture wars & appeal to religious fanatics when they have nothing else to deliver.
If the Governer of Mississippi wants to make life better for people in Mississippi,
FIX THE GULF COAST
INCREASE QUALITY OF EDUCATION
ATTRACT HIGH TECH INDUSTRY & DIVERSIFY THE ECONOMY
The people of Mississippi should be embarrassed by this political posturing. Obviously, the people of Mississippi can't depend on their governer or Pat Robertson to fix their state.
Since the state of Mississippi can't take care of the people they have now, how to they plan on taking care of all the abandoned children, or the children of crystal meth addicts who end up in foster care. |

| The governer of Mississippi better make his top priority rebuilding the Gulf Coast or he might not get re-elected, that is if the people of Mississippi really care about their own futures & not just religious fanaticism. |

You know, I find it hard to believe that you are a Christian. |

Christians help people, especially the poor. Since your such an ideological republican?
Can you provide any proof that the Governor of Mississippi is making helping the residents of Katrina his biggest priority, rather than trying to distract voters with another culture war.
If our president is such a great Christian
Why does he cut taxes for the wealthy?
Cut benefits to poor children?
Personally, I think alot of politicians are more interested in "Pimping Jesus" rather than being a living example of Christian values. Corruption & screwing the poor are not Christian values.
"Pimping Jesus" means the use and abuse of the Christian faith in the
process of obtaining great wealth and / or political value. |

I go to an evangelical ( not pentacostal ) church weekly. Our church has avoided politics and focused more on helping members of our local community. Something I think more churches should do.
As for who i vote for, that is my democratic right & responsibility, and no church will decide that for me. I am never a single issue voter, and sometimes my positions agree more with traditional ( not necessarily current ) Republican values such as small government, and government not intruding on peoples lives, and being tough on crime. |

As awful as rape is, I'd be entertained if some of these politicians had their wives raped and had to raise the rapist's child. Every time they'd look at the kid, the wife could see her attacker and the husband could see that guy that he couldn't protect her from. I'd wonder after that experience if they'd still feel the same way, or if they're just content to dole that sort of situation out to people they don't know. |
