I would go just to check out Kenneth Thomas but 20 - 25 for Jokenfold is way too much.
Isnt this like the 2348223412345312 time Oakie comes to SA for once just once why dont they waste all the money they use on booking him and book someone else that doesnt come here every fkn year. *ends rant* |

Hmm...good question. Filo & Peri showed up in Austin, and how many people showed up? I wanna say....20.....wait that may be 21, not so sure.
Dude, if they brought in someone that hardly comes to SA (Texas in general), they'd be wasting their precious time. Names like PVD, Tiësto, Armin; those kinds will actually make money and won't deprive a promotion company of their hard work in trying to get someone from overseas to the states...which costs them more than an arm and a leg. I mean , I would die to see Ronski Speed, Above & Beyond, Thrillseekers, and even my favorite duo Dj Danjo & Rob Styles spinning anywhere in Texas, which I would definitly skip a day of class just to go see. But in reality, no one but us trance and prog heads really knows who these cats are...:( |

Dude Filo and Peri never came to TX it was just a misunderstanding.
Everything that you just mentioned I already know. Promoters just want the easy no-brainer headliners to make $$$ all Im saying is that it wouldnt hurt to get other major headliners here like Sasha,Digweed,Sander K,Ferry, Hell Id even take PvD just because I dont think he has ever been in SA. They should mix it up a little. Oakenfold comes down to SA EVERY FKN YEAR. Im sick of him. However I hear they are also bringing in Tiesto in May down here as well which is a welcomed change. |

From a promotions standpoint I understand now why they bring guys like Oakie and Irene in. You typically use those shows to generate working capital and that money is what you use to bring in the guys you REALLY want to bring in. Its like playing a respected remix of a mainstream track to bait your crowd, then mixing in the track you REALLY want them to hear.
The problem in San Antonio is the talent they bring in with the money made from the Oakie and Irene-type shows. I've seen some good talent (ie. Kaskade) come through but I've also seen some bull. I will glady put up with the Oakies, Acostas, and Irenes and wear the biggest Kool-Aid grin on my face while there because those need to happen to keep things going...but I would like to see SA promoters try something a little different than the same House music they've been pushing this whole time.
I guess someone else is going to have to come in and breathe some new life into SA because the current establishment isn't going to do it. |

| I'm getting really tired of the all house lineups. Not to mention San Antonio's fastest rising DJ. LOL give me a break. |
