ok, let's get rational now. Areon has made a good point, so let's not exagerate what he means of blow it out of proportion. He was going in the right direction. There are key groups that know and underdstand... however those aren't the ones calling the shots.
Leaders should represent the majority and not like they currently do... represent the ones that scream the loudest... aka the extremists. Once leaders start going with the majorities, rather than the loudest ones, that's when there will truly be some balance in this world.
It is unfortunate that in the arab world, it's the loudest that get what they want, and it's the loudest that we should fear, no matter what side you are on. |

This is a retardly absurd correlation that has no inherent truth to the matter.
Comments like these are the equivalent of claiming that all members of the KKK are wholesome, loving, kind and accepting people just because you met one old lady who has these attributes and supports the KKK.
I often wonder why people are so stupid and bend over backwards for the media. If the media reported of all the amazing Muslims out there Im sure we'd have a different perspective... but extremism sells.
On a side note, all people on trance addict must be ing morons as the results of cousins mating based on such posts as d!iabolic!!! |

THis thread could have been a very good discussion, were it not so full of misinformed fanatics, screaming their beliefs and rationality. It is quite insane to belittle the opinions and views of those few that have expressed it here. These few are individuals who have first hand understanding of the issues at hand. I think all of you, if you have any interest in learning anything useful, go back a few pages, and load the page with the discussion on arabic TV. There are some VERY good points brought up. Insofar, this thread has been 8 pages of ranting. And that's fine too. However, we really should respect, or at least be so intelligent as to CONSIDER all opinions being released here. True, many of you say not to judge the religions and ways of life of Muslims and Islam based on the acts of a few. However, that statement in and of itself is quite uninformed. I have myself lived in a country that had three active, major practicing religions, and it was quite obvious which of the three were the LEAST tolerant of the others. But then again, I'm sure someone will have a rebuke to that as well. I've spoken to many colleagues at work, and in everyday situations, people that hail from these regions, and these beliefs. They all have varying opinions and thoughts, and it is the inclusive consideration of all of these that allows one to have a more complete picture. This thread has been a shining example of ignorance, and the sad part is that those screaming against ignorance are so convincingly blind of their own. I won't express my own feelings as to the subject matter, as I feel it won't get anywhere, and there is nary few people in this thread who would be able to discuss it in a civilised and well thought out manner. Suffice it to say that this thread really should be closed, lest it be filled up with 8 more pages of childish ranting. Yes, this is a rant too.

I dont understand why alot of people act like pussies when it comes down to discussing politics?why should threads like this get closed?These are real issues in our world today so why shouldnt we talk about them?

I know countries like iran and iraq are pretty bad but dont generalize the whole middle east in there. Those 3 arent the only countries. |
