| Heh, 7th grade drugs. Ah well, can't say I didn't experiment once or twice when I was but a sapling. Never attempted robotrippin', but I could probably get straight DXM 'round these parts if I had enough motive. |

| the first time i ever did it was @ james holden a couple years ago and it was the ! my only advice: don't drink booze with it or else you will get way too ed up. smoke some pot BEFORE you chug the bottle nad you will have a blast. |

ROBO-TRIPPING

Also known as: The Substance; DXM, Robo, Tussin. The experience; Robo-Tripping and Tussining.
Dextromethorphan, also known as DXM is a semisynthetic narcotic, which is legally available in the United States and most countries. It is typically a white crystalline powder, but also found in various over-the-counter cough medicines. The FDA in the United States has approved its use. It is in a class of drugs known as dissociative anesthetics.
It is mostly found in cough suppressants especially those with "DM" or "Tuss" in their names, such as Robitussin, which is a combination of guaifenesin, pseudoephedrine and dextromethrophan (DXM). It is the DXM that is sought in robo-tripping.
DXM is a distant relative of morphine. It impairs physical coordination, creates a feeling of euphoria, dizziness and causes hallucinations.
The Effects Of Dextromethorphan
# Dextromethorphan's Emotional effects:
Mood lifts, euphoria, giggling and laughing, dissociation of mind from body, creative dreamlike experiences and some users report empathic feelings, forgiveness, and warm feelings toward others.
# Physical effects:
Pupil dilation, visual and aural hallucinations, decreased sexual functioning, confusion and disorientation, skin sensitivity, alters tactile (touch) and zombie-like walk "robo-walking" and discoordination.
# Negative Physical effects:
Upset stomach, vomiting, dizziness, body itching, rash, red blotchy skin, diarrhea, fever, tachycardia (pounding heart) and some users report feeling disconnected, isolated from others. A decreased ability to regulate body temperature, which when taken in a dance-club setting can lead to heat stroke.
Dextromethorphan's Plateaus
DXM's exhibits "plateaus". In a given plateau, higher doses change the overall effect of the drug. Higher
doses means stronger effects, and other effects tend to dominate. There are four plateaus.
The FIRST PLATEAU:
Feeling a little drunk and a little stoned at the same time, colors seem "different", such as deeper or richer.
The SECOND PLATEAU:
Visual hallucinations begin to occur. Hallucinations consist of sheets, swirls and blobs of color that move about. Feelings of a "body high". Negative physical effects, like nausea, often tend to overwhelm the pleasant body buzz. Physical coordination is impaired; double vision is the hallmark of the DXM at second plateau.
The THIRD PLATEAU:
This is where the psychotomimetic (psychosis like) effects of DXM take over. There is an altered state of consciousness that will be the dominating factor of the experience. Sensory is seriously impaired, especially vision.
The FOURTH PLATEAU:
Total mind/body dissociation occurs. Loss of some or all contact with external senses, inability to move or respond to stimuli. Hallucinated contacts with gods, aliens, along with completely irrational thinking. The greatest risk at this level is brain damage.

update
so after having taken these shots we sat down to watch spy game when the effects kicked in.
it was like being mildly drunk with a shorter than normal short term memory...
and it made me sleepy.
so i slept.

Well I wanted to keep an open mind about this, so after much researching on it on the net, I decided to give this a try last night. I went to a grocery store to buy some soda and some cough drops, and then perused the cough syrups, checking on their active ingredients lists. I had learned to avoid using products containing Actaminophen, Guaifenesin, and Chlorpheniramine Maleate, as those could lead to vomiting or even death. I luckily found a bottle of Robo which contained DXM only and bought it. I ingested most of the 4 oz bottle around 12:30 am, estimating a little over 300mg DXM ingested. Now considering that was a lower than normal dose, I figured it would probably at the most give me a small head rush, or at least some numbness of my muscles. Hell, I might even just be wasting my time. But the deed was done so I went upstairs to view the Net and then watch some Anime porn.
1 hour after intake: Was burping about every 10 minutes. I kept thinking that nausea would hit me any second, but it never came. Head started to feel numb, things seemed to be slightly out of place. The anime porn wasn't making any sense so I turned it off.
2 hours after intake: Burping was gone, but intense itchyness to the scalp and neck were present. I had forgotten reading about the "DXM itch," I took it a sign that the drug would soon be kicking in. I tried walking around my room. Movements felt slower than usual, like being in a zombie-like state. Ability to read was failing. I started to realize that this just might have been the perfect dosage...
3 hours after intake: Euphoric feelings just came out of nowhere. I had spent the last 15 minutes staring at the walls and watching them move. Now I was feeling good. I walked downstairs to get some water and the trip down and back up was amazing. I played some psytrance on my headphones, and soon I was glued to my bed. The effects were very MDA-like, and my eyeballs were rolling back in my sockets, like Ecstacy.
4 hours after intake: Much like the 3rd hour, good visuals and minor hallucinations. The euphoric effects were still running strong, and I was rocking out to James Holden-At the Controls...well mentally I saw myself dancing to it. I couldn't move out of my bed, and I didn't want to move. The feeling was too good, and Holden's set was just genious. It seemed like every piece of furniture in my room was dancing to the beat of the set.
5 hours after intake: Gradual comedown. The euphoria was drifting away and the walls were barely wavering now. I yawned, smiled to myself and then turned in for the night.
The next day at work I still felt groggy, slight disassociation, and unwillingness to communicate with others. I felt a slight depression, but nothing too bad, jaw hurts pretty bad though. All in all, a damned good night, one of the better Monday nights in my life. I can understand the appeal of this drug now, and see also how it can be abused. Even though it is a teen drug, if you treat it with respect and do your research, it can make for a fun time. I do plan on trying this again, this time at a 500 mg dose. Wizniz, you should have downed more, but thanks for making this thread. It was the last push I needed to finally try DXM. :disbelief |
