"I'm aliiiiive...take a breath"

Yeah, I haven't felt very lively for the past 3 days though. Been violently sick since Wednesday night. I mean for me to miss work AND Ferry gotta be baaad. But, for those of you catching my reference, I shall magically appear at PvD tonight! Just don't expect much dancing...

Very unlike you to have missed last night....

I'm gonna warn you guys now...if you don't want to read a long review...stop reading now. But this was officially one of the best nights of my life and I'm not going to sell myself short by keeping quiet about things that I will remember forever...

First of all,
Laura - none of this would have happened if it we're for you. You're my partner in crime and official NYC road trip buddy. Two months of planning and chaos but it's finally here! Thank you, I love you.

TOTAs - having so many of my close friends here with me has made this night ever so much more special. I'm glad you were all here.

Shan, Kal & crew - it was so great seeing you guys again. I'm glad you changed your trip to the same weekend we were going so that we could all show Ferry how much Canada loves him together!

Fran & Kelly-squared - thanks for helping to organize things here on the NYC end and putting us up for the weekend. Your hospitality means so much. (And yankee...I don't even know how to thank you. You made my night, you made my year, you made my life!)

Big Mike - Wow...you as well, you made my night, year and life...4 years in the making baby, I've been waiting for this moment! As many times as I've seen Ferry, and as much as I love him...I never got a chance to meet him. Go figure.

Kadomony - thank you for the wrist band as well. Even though it was broken, we still got things worked out. I appretiate your help :)

Peter - thank you for taking all the great pictures and letting me take that video when my 1G memory card was full. I promised my lovely DA (a FLTA) that I would take a video during Force of Gravity b/c it's "our" song.

NYTAs - it was really great to meet so many of you. Forgive me if I see you again tonight and don't remember. I met a lot of you at one time and my memories terrible (not to mention I spent most of my night on cloud 9).

Ferry - thank you...thank you for your music, for you chit-chats, for your energy...for everything!

Anyways,
I wasn't the happiest with Serge's set. I found it a little boring, having it's points which were few and far between. Maybe it was just my anticipation for Ferry (knowing I was going to meet him). When Ferry came on, I went mad. I was so close...right at the front of the stage. I finally got up on stage and I was so nervous. For like 10 minutes I was standing next to him and didn't know what to say. I finally got some words out, and after that...I couldn't stop talking to him all night. What a friendly guy...one of the reasons why he's my favorite DJ! I'm not gonna start getting into what I said to him, but let's just say that he knew who I was and it was so nice to talk to him.

I'm glad Ferry's wife was there as well. It was great to meet her. She also remembered who I was, having communicated with her through emails at times.

Dancing on the stage was so great. I wanted to be on the ground with all of my friends, looking up at Ferry. But when some of my fave songs came on...I had to get up there! I made 5 requests and he played 3 of them (THANK YOU!). He also signed the shirt that I made just for him, and a bunch of flyers.

Pics will be up when I get back from NYC...and I have a bunch of videos as well.

Thanks again EVERYONE for making this such a special night that I will remember forever.

{Edit: Crobar was a gorgeous club. I liked that it wasn't TOO crowded. One down side...beside the TAs, I found the crowd to be a little rude. There was a LOT of pushing and shoving - which is expected at any club - but it just seemed to be a lot ruder here. Lot's of people trying to push you out of the way to take your spot (good thing I'm not afraid to us my elbows), as well as guys gawking at you the entire time. One random guy even asked if he could take a picture of me (at first I thought it was b/c he wanted a picture WITH me b/c of the shirt I made), but no...it was b/c he just wanted a picture of me. I kindly said that I wouldn't feel comfortable, and next thing I know...I'm up dancing on the stage and he's taking pictures left and right. I kinda felt odd, but I wasn't going to let him ruin my night and stop me from dancing on the stage with Ferry.}

Americans can be asses at times. This is exactly the opposite in Toronto, people are actually somewhat nicer. But I did find some chicks that think they are just awesome. But anyways, I bet you TOTA guys and gals are tired as hell after 2 nights of clubbing. My suggestion is that take monday off for recovery. I am sure you all need it.

Though I still feel like total , not being 21 and all... (Paul Van Dyk... :( ), I think I'll finally post my review of last night. So we got there a bit late (for me at least... I like to be there b4 11) and missed much of Serge's set, though I still got to rave insanely! I must say, Serge is like beer, a most definately acquired taste. When I first heard him spin, I didn't like the set one bit. But I was sold after he dropped "Raining Again" right before Tiesto got on. That, truly, ranks among my favorite club moments in the past year, and I remind him of it every time I see him... I think he's gotten used to hearing that very same compliment every time he runs into me in Crobar or wherever. Devant just has this style that is neither too fast nor too slow, a style that keeps you moving at just the right speed.

Ok, so on to Corsten! Now, I've been to all but 2 of Corsten's residency shows in Crobar (I missed the January one and the first one), and all I can say is that last night was the best I've ever seen him. First of all, the track selection was phenomenal. The crowd was actually raving because of the music, not because of the DJ's image. I mean, the last time I saw people so into the party was at Tiesto, when it was simply an enormous quantity of people raving because Tiesto was lifting his arms into the air and not because of the quality of the music. Ferry kept the crowd going not by flashing his name on the monitors and by gesturing at the audience, but by spinning some insane tracks, and I congradulate him for that.

The crowd, too, was phenomenal. I know that Lisa said that there were a lot of rude people in back, but you must understand that this is Crobar NYC, and the back is always packed with Guidos, FOBs, and other losers that are rude and couldn't tell you the difference between Armin van Buuren and Armand van Helden. So please Lisa (other TOTAs included), don't take it as anything more than it is: the bad people that come out of the woodwork to ruin the party for others. What really made the night great, though, were the tireless ravers in front. I'm talking about all the TAs that sang along and knew every beat of every song by heart; you guys really made the night. When Ferry dropped "Punk", I started to scream the beat and pump my fist, thinking that it would be a cool thing to do. To my suprise, I heard that everybody in front seemed to have come up with the same idea and the chorus was deafening, rocking along with the hard melody of "Punk" with absolute perfection.

I know I talked to nearly every TA in the club for a while and got a few interesting pictures taken. Unfortunately, a lot of those conversations have blurred together in my mind, having not been myself last night (hehe, for those of you that talked to me, you know what I mean). Well, because of that I have a hole in my brain the size of a Tiesto trainwreck, so I definately got all the names confused with the faces, so I apologize if I mix you guys up the next time I say hello. Well, I'd like to get those pics, but I'm sure some1 will post them when they recover from PvD... (I so wish I could have gone....).

So thanks again for the awesome night, and thank you Ferry for an amazing residency!
