judging by that statement, youre saying artists i love, like Beethoven, Mozart, Metallica, Black Sabbath, 2Pac, Notorious B.I.G, Terra Samba, Frank Sinatra, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and other great artists suck?
you sir, are a very narrow-minded individual. go back to listening DJ Tiesto and BT thx :)
oh, and going back to a previous reply i gave to someone, "your tastes in general suck, no matter what genre of music." a bit of a sweeping statement too :) |
No matter what else you listen to, your list of favorite edm artists makes you unbeatable in the "worst taste" department. There's nothing sweeping about that. |

thats fine, but he was implying my music taste in general, which he know applies to genres from classical to death metal as i have expressed this in a few posts in these forums.. not just edm

its called a hyperbole; a figure of speech which gives greater emphasis and exaggeration to a given word or phrase |

Yeah, here we are. Always one to defend yourself by referring to your hugely broad tastes (which cover the most obvious examples of every genre going). You think I don't listen to equally broad stuff? You think that because you listen to successful artists you have unassailable musical tastes? Bollocks. I know plenty of people who listen to Marvin Gaye and 2Pac and have some utterly awful tastes. So you can shove your "Greatest Hits of popular music" tastes, because that list sounds like you let FM radio tell you what good music is. Which would explain a lot. |

well, i was just giving the more mainstream examples, because if i stated artists like Antonio Forcione, Gilberto Gil, Decapitated or Camp Lo, im sure you wouldnt have a clue who or what genre im on about
oh, "I know plenty of people who listen to Marvin Gaye and 2Pac", well do those 'plenty of people' also like death metal or classical? i think not. dont try to add me into that category thx |

Er... yes. I know someone who likes hardcore punk, thrash metal, hip-hop and Motown (with everything in between). He can also name a lot of obscure bands that I haven't heard of. And guess what? He listens to lots of crap. Being a genre-slut doesn't mean you have better tastes. It's often a sign that you'll listen to any old without stopping to be critical. You probably say to someone on a death metal forum "I listen to trance and hard-house as well" to pass off your tastes in another genre. |
