Soundforge Question

I did a recording using Sound Forge 7.0 last night and for some reason I got a high pitched whine running through most of the set. Does anyone know how to extract frequencies like this or had a smiliar problem or is there no way of getting rid of it?

I'm using a DJM600 and two CDJ1000s - and a standard Y cable from the Rec Out part of the mixer into my Mic port on a laptop ( am wondering if there is a fault in teh wire?)

Hope that someone can help!

Thanks
DannyO
Your problem is that your recording this threw a mic input, mic inputs are not made to handle sound the same way a line in input is.

As for your mix, theres no decent way of getting rid of the sound, there is one way you could do it, but no point in explaining as it WILL sound like after anyway, sorry man, just gonna have to redo the mix and record it another way.
