So Trance isn't dead then? (pg. 2)
View this Thread in Original format
Grrrrr
Check out sander van doorn (and his hundreds of aliases http://www.discogs.com/artist/Sander+Van+Doorn) his 'purple haze' productions for example are pretty good.

Random track that i love from late last year (i think): Kuffdam & Plant - Summer Dream (Stoneface & Terminal Remix)

Ferry Corsten is still bashing out some awesome new productions and remixes though a lot of them are still to be released, he's releasing an album later this year.

The new Above & Beyond album despite all the hype isn't very good. However, you'll probably like their online radio show 'trance around the world' i think it's streamed from the ministry of sound website

If you like things a little harder and more psy orientated John '00' Fleming is probably the DJ of choice (certainly most well known), check out his online radio show 'global trance grooves' to see if you like his style (a google search should bring up where you can listen to it)

A few things to check out there, thanks for being a newbie that hasn't just joined and pissed everyone off :)

*Waits for someone to make the obvious pun with the words "pop music" in your original quote and me mentioning Armin, Ferry and Tiesto in mine :o*

Well I already have most of their stuff. And thats still just 3 people. And trance is concidered really really crap in ma country (at least, I have yet to meet a person face to face who can actually admit they like trance)

However, these peeps have indeed some good stuff, I just never hear anything new by them cause:

A: Im scared away from my radio
12: Some of their later tracks didnt appeal to me.
E=mc2: I think that about sums it up.

Serious, go listen to Frans Bouer, you'll never wanna see a Dutch "man" again ehehehe

Thanks much to you too!

I'm pretty hopeless, I need something new every week ehehhehe. Someday...there just wont be any trance left for me to hear 0_0.

But I'll add your suggestions to ze list and I'll see what I can find.
I browsed some stores here too, but no luck on trance I'm afraid.
May be able to get some cheap oldies though.

You are welcome. Uhm, I seriously hope I didnt piss anyone off, I just ask for equal treatment and respect. Afterall, we all started out like this...right?

Trust me man, I'm well acquainted with Frans Bauer, as his influence is starting to spread across the Dutch-Belgian border ;)

But since you say you haven't met a single Dutchman that would admit he likes trance, have you already come across this:

IF you wnaa hear what could be considered cutting edge trance or what is the newest sounds goin about go donwload:

Jon O'Bir, Sander Van Doorn or Menno De Jong set

If you listen to either of them then cum bak and say ure still disillusioned, think nothing is "moving forward" etc etc etc. Then fair play ure musical taste has "evolved". If you like what you hear then welcome to trance circa 2006

trance is not dead, yet...
u need research more...
but i agree that is not made like 99/2000, but c'mon... let's try evolve...
;)
Demoted
There's some good trance still out there, but for the most part I've found the many of the most creative producers are in the prog house and minimal areas. This doesn't mean that all trance sucks though... I guess?
dittoalex
I download gigabytes of new trance every day. There's just too much!

Uhm disillusioned? I never said it wasn't moving forward , I'm saying I havent heard anything that appeals to me before I found this place and after 2003. Because we simply dont get many trance tracks on radio etc.

I'd be happy to find those things you mentioned. We'll see if I like it.
I'm just very picky with my music, especially after the nasty "dance incident 2003"

Thanks for your suggestions

I wouldn't be surprised if this person is just yankin your chains. Claiming to be from Holland yet claiming Trance is dead and that his country never plays Trance is a big contradiction. You can't swing a dead cat in Holland without hitting a Trance DJ or producer :p
Even the radio in Holland, including the commercial Top 40 stations, is Dance and Trance friendly.
just about anywhere in Holland you can pick up 3 FM, Radio 538, and Slam FM, and all have some Trance leaning shows especially on weekend nights.
In Holland's major cities you can also either pick up Fresh FM, or X-FM down in Southern Holland.

Just what city in Holland, or near which city, do you live in?

mndeg
i remember a slam FM commercial from a rip of system f -solstice
