dj taj opened at 9 and played until 12. i got there late so i only caught the last hour of taj's set. from what i heard it was one of his top sets, but apparently i missed out on jungle breakbeat proggy house taj for the first 2 hours :(. when i got there he was in trance mode and the crowd was goin nuts. looked for a second like he was the main act of the night! ferry comes up to the stage cheery and nice as always, signs a bunch of records and flyers and dives right into his set. he dropped a couple of new ferry tracks along with a bunch of the classics: cubikated, fire, everything goes, sublime, who's knocking, sweet sorrow, i love you, punk and i think the cosmic gate remix of punk. also it seems like every time i go out now i hear the dj drop breathe (svd remix), i ain't mad though! :D so once again ferry rocked ruby skye with that party vibe he always brings to town... even on a sunday night. the lower floor was completely filled pretty much until 3:30 monday :cool: oh yeah and davet started a new trend with his heart sign, had a bunch of people in the crowd doing back to him and eventually even ferry started doing it! :haha: :haha:

looks like it was an amazing night, I'm glad you guys had a blast....heres my night:
10pm grabbed my tix and picked up a friend of mine and left for the city
11pm heading west bound I80 towards SF in the fast lane going 65mph due to the rain. Was deffinitely keeping with the flow of traffic and even had some people passing but again it was pouring so didn't want to push it.
11:05pm either tire blew out or hit a major pocket of water and lost traction. Then subsequently lost control of my car and spun around and did a 180. Hit the median and was now facing oncoming traffic in the #1 lane. Airbags deploy and car dies completely and for 60 secs was in a total state of WTF. :confused:
11:06pm after gaining composure and a couple people slow and ask if we are alright some jagoff in a minivan doesn't think its of importance to pay attention to a stalled car facing him in his lane. He notices at the last possible minute and pulls right and clips the front right part of my car (that could've been a disaster). I call 911, grab an umbrella, and we get out of the car thru her door since mine can't open. The genious in the minivan pulls over down the road.
11:10pm chp shows up closes the lanes for a few minutes to push my car with his to the other side of the freeway. We get into his car and I give him my license, registration, and insurance along with a statement. Tow truck arrives shortly after and has to flat bed my baby because it can't even be dragged because it is ed off. Meanwhile the genious in the minivan puts his hazard lights on and walks over with an umbrella and talks to another chp and complains about his neck (what a leech on society). A little paint damage and maybe a broken headlamp and what he thinks he'll need a neck brace. Watch wtf you are doing there guy. , the entire first half of my new Acura TL is completely demolished.
11:30 grab my ipod and some personal items from my car before its towed to a lot in Vallejo and the chp drives us to dennys at the nearest exit where we wait for a ride back to Sac.
Needless to say we missed Ferry :(
In the end the most important thing is we are both still alive and what could've been a fatal accident will just be a missed night at Spundae and a major headache.
In 3 hours I'm going to get the last of my things and see my car as it will be transfered to Sac by then. I'll post before and after pics.

| damn 99j, that's some crazy :eek: but at least you can say it was a crazy night and not a deadly one. i've been stalled out on an extremely narrow inside shoulder on 580 at night before and the same paranoid thought goes through my mind the whole time i'm in front of the car... that some clown in an expedition talking on the phone at 90mph starts to drift into my path and stacks into me. i guess that wasn't so paranoid after all, but lucky you guys were both still inside the car and not under or in front of it :nervous: did they ever figure out if it was a blowout or hydroplane? cause i hydroplaned 3-4 times last night just driving up 580 around the same time |

yeah man it was a crazy experience...i really wanted to experience ferry with you guys but ultimately we are safe and no one else got hurt. :)
i talked to prog. ins. and they said the car won't be transfered till tomorrow so i'm going to meet a claims rep there tomorrow and figure out exactly what made me lose control and also find out if its totalled or not....after reading your post and thinking back, i think it may have been hydroplaning that caused it...
wait till you guys see how ed my car got :(

I don't know the last itme I jumped my fat ass up and down so much...maybe at Markus in November, lol....
What fun! Too much fun!
Place wasn't as packed as Armin on a Sunday night, but wowzas was the whole place completely into it. No one really seemed to leave until well after 3am. I was outside a little after 2am and I didn't see the usual "Uh oh, the alcohol is wearing off. Time to go!" crowd leaving.
It was intense. Ferry's set was...*WAHOOOOOOOOOO!!!*
People seemed to be saying he wasn't into his set that much in LA, but oh boy he seemed to be loving SF last night!
I like his new track Daylight (when he played both L.E.F. and Daylight, I didn't even know they were his tracks at the time for sure...just it had that Ferry sound to it. So I went up to him and asked him if it was a new track of his, and I was right both times. :p)
Ended up leaving a little after 3:30am (Ferry came on at midnight) because I knew I had a very busy day at work today. I was able to get a couple hours sleep in at least. 7pm and still stuck at work. :p
I will have to check out my pictures. I was having major issues getting good pics...then I notice right at the end of the night the stupid thing had a setting changed around. Ugh. |
