BAD BOY BILL

System Recordings | Mixconnection - Chicago

www.djbadboybill.com www.myspace.com/Djbadboybill

"America's no. 1 Favorite DJ" (BPM Magazine 2003), Bill is a favorite amongst dance-music fans world-wide. Now with his latest release, Bad Boy Bill takes it to another level; The first of the its kind, "Behind The Decks," the 2-disc set boasts a 2.5+ hour DVD in addition to a 70+ minute mix CD, with a discrete 5.1 Dolby surround sound mix with visuals. In a market full of simulated-surround sound DJ mixes, which merely add some reverb and audience participation in an attempt to give the mix a live feel, Behind The Decks actually isolates vocals from percussion and the like, bringing a truly revolutionary live feel through 5 speakers. Also included are Bill’s music videos, behind-the-scenes footage from the road and in the studio, and live interview footage, which Bill hopes will give his audience “a good picture of what I’m like and what I do.”

Chicago's Bad Boy Bill transcends the role of the average superstar DJ. With Bill's top-selling mix CD series whose sales have eclipsed the 100,000 plateau per release on Mix Connection Multimedia (the label which Bill co-owns with partner and long time friend Michael Ryden), he reaffirms that passion and versatility elicit success.

"Musically, I've been playing both funky house and harder tracks," says Bill, a veteran global road warrior who averages over 150 DJ gigs annually. "This CD is a mixture of various musical styles, which is where I'm at with my live DJ sets right now."

Spinning the crowd into a dancing frenzy is Bill's motivation. "The payoff for me is seeing people dancing and having a great time during my set," he humbly admits as he continues to make the masses go wild for his unmistakable style of live remixes. "My DJ style originated with the idea to remix a song live with two copies of the same record and then combine scratching and hip-hop techniques with house grooves."
In spite of all of his accomplishments, Bill remains modest, levelheaded and positively motivated about his direction. "I am always thinking about the future."

Forget old school and new school. Bad Boy Bill is the leader of the next school!

If you have never seen Bad Boy Bill, this is your chance to see house music's legendary enigma. Resposible for a generation of musical impact on our nation and the world, Bill will effortlessly lead you on a multi sensory journey thought the house music cuture and beyond. Cutting, scratching, bassline bangin', beat juggling, house music domination!!!

I know it's this weekend, and I probably could've posted this sooner, but is anyone else going? I was a bit iffy at first, but NL wants me to go and take photos, so I figure I'll just go and have some fun.

*bump*

Two days away. I'll probably go to the afterparty too, for the hell of it.

SATURDAY MARCH 11th, 2006 - SEATTLE, WA

SHOW IS CANCELLED

We regretfully announce we have been forced to cancel this show.

For the first time in the history of our company we have had an issue arise that will prevent us from giving our customers what we have advertised. A combination of events, which stem from the EXACT SAME reasons that KANDYLAND 2 had the venue pulled from them have led to a trickle down effect that will soon effect EVERY ASPECT OF THIS SCENE. No one is safe....

Here are the details...

The Washington State Liquor Control Board has decided they are not comfortable with ALL AGES / 21+ events that go past 11pm. Therefore they have begun to contact venue owners and threaten to pull their liquor license if they allow such events to take place. The venue owners in turn are forced to make a decsion on how this will effect upcoming shows...

Studio 7 has had their liquor licesensed pulled for this Saturdays Robogirls show...

Instead of being given the option to do our show as an ALL AGES ONLY event with no bar (like what Studio 7 will be) the liquor control board has decided that our show could only happen as a 21+ ONLY show.

This is not an option for us.

There is no alternate venue and no option for an ALL AGES ONLY show.

We have had to make the decision to cancel this show to make the financial loss on this event as minimal as possible. To even open the doors as a 21+ only should would double our loss.....

This is a sad day in the Seattle electronic music scene...

The city has begun a crackdown on events that will continue, and with the amount of issues coming up I fear that ALL OF OUR EVENTS, VENUES, & PROMOTERS are in serious danger....

There is no law that we have violated. We have all needed permits and licenses. We pay our taxes. Yet we were forced by the liquor control board to cancel the event.....

I have never even had an artist cancel, a show move to a diifferent venue, or delilver anything less that exact what we promised...

I am seriously reconsidering the future of NEXT LEVEL and the events we have planned for the future...

For those of you have bought presale tickets from GROOVETICKETS.com here is the info to get a refund...

I heard because the cops said it was a "rave" and shut it down? How can that be? Do you guys know anything about what happened?

No, Seattle's scene thrives on all-ages parties and they're, more often than not, referred to as raves; the police tend to be very cooperative at said events. The promoter is one of the most trustworthy, and when they said it was the LCB that shut them down I'm very inclined to believe them.
