Are you ing kidding me?

What happened to that club? Wow..looks amazing.
in 1995 i was 11.

got shut down...NYU bought the property and built dorms or some thing..

People always talk about Twilo...but Palladium was a far better venue...only difference is that it was in the day where no one cared about super djs and ...jus the music, dancing, feeling good and getting numbers..lol

i was lucky enough to go to Palladium most every Friday night with 2 Saturday nights a month from 1992 till around 1995 when my ex made me chill on the clubbing....definalty many good memories there...especially all the way up top in the opera seats.

awesome vid brooks!

the palladium was dope -- saw johnny vicious and stretch armstrong spin there a bunch of times. besides walking over the lights when you stepped in, you could touch all the on the ceilings if you were at the top.

after they tore the club down, nyu had the nerve to name the dorm "palladium" -- bastards...

and what's there now -- this is why nyc has gone to

It really was. It was an old opera house from the 1920, i beleive, transformed into a club.

If you look at the picture below, on the top right of it, you can see some of the original architecture of the building which when you were inside looking up you could see very easily...beautiful venue.

and here is a model of the opera house with the club built inside..the rows on the left was original opera seats, like in a movie theatre which sloped down to face the club...it was very high up on the top seats looking down. Many different levels and corridors to go through, as well as rooms.

Konijn aka the tour guide's info on the venue

the building was built in 1854 as the Academy of Music (an opera hall). it lasted about 20 years and then it became a general hall for vaudeville plays and union meetings (union square is legendary for its radical history). by the late 1920s it became a movie theater and stayed that way until the '70s when it became a concert hall for rock bands and . in the late-70s early 80s it became the palladium we knew and loved =)
