Well. I had a terrific time. Seneca's set was really good, though the soundsystem at Spybar is lacking in a big way. That was my first time at Spybar, and must I say, I was disappointed. The drinks *sucked* and were way overpriced. I was happy to have waited to get my last drink at Soundbar, where they made me a real long island that was absolutely terrific.
Satoshi's set was thrilling from beginning to end. The soundsystem there is a force to be reckoned with, if I do say so myself.
It was great seeing the TAs that made it there. I'll definitely have to make it out to more CTA gatherings. |

Seneca put together a quality set at Spy Bar and it got progressively better as the night went on, which was obviously planned that way as more people began to show up. Excellent sets from Seneca the last 2 nights in a row. Was having a great time but also wanted to check out the tail end of James Lauer, who also did not fail to deliver. Satoshi's mixing wasn't phenomenal, but his track selection was absolutely wonderful. That was one of the best flows I've ever heard in a set. Afterhours was pretty bad.
In any case, glad you and your friend made it out, Chris, and hope you join the crew regularly. Juliet, great to see you and Wilson and your friend. Christen & Lara also great to see you as well. Tony, thanks for dealing with everything.
Now that it's nearly 9 pm and I've been drinking for the last 7 hours in addition to the past couple of days, it's time for sleep. Unfortunately some little kid stole my Guinness flag and I need to get a new one for the Southside parade tomorrow & some random girl's kegger that was impressed by today's drunken Irish step dancing show. All I can say is if the new 3CD from Satoshi is similar to this show it's by far worth buying! |

To say the least. It was not anything like post-Zabiela and wound up with an episode of Saved by the Bell :(. |

Well here's a quick and a late review.
For Starters Seneca I really enjoyed your set at sound-bar. Really enjoyed Slok - Lonely Child (Satoshie Tomiie 3D Vocal Mix). It was my first time in spybar in chicago. I liked the layout of the place.
Satoshi's set was great. Does anyone have any ID's. He was using a Rotary mixer. I really gotta try one of these someday, to see what all the fuss is about.
Andy was right, we stopped by an afters which was by far the worst afterparty I have been to in Chicago. So a bubblegum episode of saved by the bell was a nice touch at the end of the night.
It was great hanging out with Yuris and Andy Saturday before our paths split. I finally made it home monday morning. I'd like to hear how that party downtown was.
Great to see Juliet and friends, Christan, Seneca, Andy, Laura, and Yuris.
Always a pleasure down in Chicago with the TA's, its like a home away from home these days. See you all next show.

Quite insane. Wound up turning the Guinness flag into a cape and there was plenty of free booze. The highlights were watching my friend's boss try to wrestle a bunch of little kids while he was beat red from drinking so much and also having a discussion with a Senator while double fisting Guinness. When the party ended, we wound up going to the bar in the basement and the owner of the hotel comped everything while we tried to get an Irish stepdancing troupe to dance to Journey. Biggest negative was when I found out...well let's not discuss that ;)
Wound up going back to that falafel place for dinner by the way, best hummus ever! |
