You must be a big supporter of the Conservatives I'm guessing? Let me guess, free trade for all, hands in the air for privatized health care, the US is our friend, and down with welfare?

I'll let DigiNut or Jayx1 have fun with this one. :D

Simply because they can make it more amusing than I.

In reference to all this conservative vs liberal crap, when was the last time the country was 'right'? It seems as if all this talk about the last 15-20 years of government has been negative.

Any positives?

AND YOU WONDER WHY THE TTC(sorry re: caps) is hicking their rates on transportation up - it qwill probably cost 5 dollars one way - by the time the ttc goes all the way to york university. The sheppared line took close to 6 years to compelete - so this will be a good idea for those people/students in grade 10 right now waiting to go to york! but grade 10's are not thinking about how they will get to university - they are still stuck on the idea "Why am I not aloud to eat chips and pop?"

here are some interesting comments about usage on the line

Lay off the insults, and tone down your snobby attitude. You seem insecure.

NYC

Paris

Tokyo

Seoul

London

you get the idea...
Toronto TTC lines are about as straight forward as you can get.
NYC also has express vs local trains that if you get on the wrong one at times square they don't let you off until you are in Harlem or some other area on the opposite end of the city from where you thought you were going.

I disagree. I am not confused at all. Maybe you misread the article, because it talked about how they're hoping to get provincial and federal funding for this project. Federal funding would have been much more likely if there was a Federal Liberal government right now, instead of a Conservative government.

Furthermore, federal and provincial politics may deal with different issues, and have differences on many levels, but at the end, a Liberal government, be it provincial or federal, will have similar views and ideals. Likewise with a federal and provincial Conservative government.

I made my original statement somewhat alluding to all the foolish people in the city who cried out "enough with the Liberals, vote Conservative".

Before you make any more statements, did you actually read the platforms that the Conservatives and Liberals had for the Federal election? The Liberal platform was *much* more geared toward cities, dealing with a lot of specific issues like transit, health care, income tax. The Conservative platform dealt with many issues that were not important to cities like Toronto, or with issues that were of relevance, the Conservative platform proposed with solving the issues or dealing with them in less than ideal ways.

Go talk to any political expert or Professor, and they will tell you there will be problems with a Conservative Federal government, and provincial Liberal government.

I'd rather have the Liberals be in power both at the Federal and provincial levels, because there would be some unity and understanding among both governments. Having a Conservative government at both levels would not be of any good.

I'd definitely rather not have a Conservative government, especially after all the problems that Brian Mulroney and his highly corrupt government caused, not to mention Mike Harris. Most of the decay in social programs and social support, as well as infrastructure to an extent, can be attributed to Conservatives (Mike Harris at the provincial level) and Brian Mulroney as PM.

Its true that the Liberals TALKED about cities for years. Much more than the federal conservatives. But talk is cheap. What have they actually done for toronto? NOTHING thats what. OK fine, when pressed to the wall in a minority government after 11 years of doing nothing they promise a small share of the gas taxes. BIG DEAL. The federal liberals did more to DAMAGE toronto than anyone else starting with the downloading of healthcare and social housing on to the province which then had little choice but to share those costs with the cities.

The Liberals talk alot, but talk is cheap. I still remember the day that Chretien, Harris and Lastman broke ground on the waterfront. Well Harris wasnt around much longer after that but Chretien was and where are we today? Fighting about 100 metre long bridges and airports!!

This statement right here proves how misinformed you really are.

-NAFTA was signed sealed and delivered by your friend Mr Chretien (after he promised to scrap free trade in opposition).

-We already have privatized health care. This is why i need a $150 a month private medical plan for all kinds of things OHIP wont cover. If thats not two tier i dont know what is! BTW your liberal friends' second act in power provincially was to delist a whole host of medical procedures thus creating EVEN MORE two tier health.

-Yes, the last time i checked the US was our friend. They arent perfect and we should stand up for our rights. But id rather have them as our neighbour than many other countries out there. We depend on them for our economic survival.

-Down with welfare? NO way! Most conservatives support welfare. They just support it's abuse.

So think before you make misinformed comments such as the ones you just made because it only makes you look the fool.
