And even if the threat of Iran is well supported, Cheney's gonna do this with what Army again?

Cheney / Bush cant do it alone or even with UK by their side.

Pardon my ignorance, but I haven't been following the rhetorics on Iran this last week, but why would an army be needed for "meaningful consequences"? I would think that economic sanctions, and maybe some air strikes, could be quite meaningful.

Sorry, that was my silly attempt at rephrasing the schoolyard threat of "Oh yeah? You and what Army?"

Nothing really much deeper in meaning than that :D.

I could see a few incidents of "friendly fire" happening.

During Vietnam the U.S. tried to give Cheney a gun so he could fight in Vietnam, and he only got deferrments because he "had more important things to do".

Good question. He would either have to restart the draft, or call all the gays back to the military.
