Dear Family Members,
We Have made every effort to contain this fantastic news. We have exerted every effort to make sure that all of the details were covered and confirmed before we shared this with you. We have spent hours trying to come up with best way to let you know that

YOU SPOKE! WE LISTENED! WE'RE GOING HOME!

You were there when we started in 1991 on Hubert Street. You were there when we moved to 27th Street. You were there when we moved back to Hubert Street and remained loyal on 39th Street. The unwavering support of our endearing "heads" has resulted in crowning Shelter as the longest running dance party in New York City. Without your devotion, there would be no Shelter. We are eternally grateful to you for your part in this experience.

Shelter is going home. Shelter is going to a place where we can be ourselves. Shelter is going back downtown.

And that said, our last party on 39th Street will be Saturday, February 25, 2006. Your DJ will be the Maestro, Timmy Regisford, of course as we say goodbye to midtown.
We will then be closed for a short period while we finish construction and complete the move with a sound system that will leave you breathless.

Stay tuned for details regarding our new location and details of our "House Warming" party at the new "Shelter"

Peace

I only discovered this place late last summer and really loved it. I was really looking forward to watching many sunrises from that rooftop this summer. oh well ...

hey SidMl, i think what it means is that the promoters behind the CLUB SHELTER parties are moving, but the venue itself is proably not shutting down... theres alwayus a chance of the roof parties coming back considering that was a group of promoters not affiliated with the CLUB SHELTER parties :)

hm... i'd be interested to see what it's like going back downtown. i don't like the 39th st location all that much, tho i've never been there on a regular night (always for some special event). ::shrug::

too bad they probably won't re-open till after i leave at the end of this month.
