Alright, I had to stop reading it because it was pissing me off how no one was even remotely getting the point that Rob was getting across. Rather than seeing the criticism as merely an opinion of the event itself and not of any of the talent, everyone chose the "if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all" philosophy. Damnit, Rob's right. If everyone just kept their opinions to themselves, there would never be a catalyst for change. Everyone would just sit on their hands, dissatisfied with whatever they might be concerned with.
As a person that speaks my mind whenever something bothers me, I completely agree with what Rob did in the first place. His post did seem a bit harsh at first glance but if you ACTUALLY READ, it was just a simple criticism. Not only am I not afraid to dole out criticism, I'm not afraid to hear it either. If you're expecting to go through life with everything sugar coated and in a nice little package, then you're in for a big disappointment. |
