Help Needed - Clubs in ATL

I'll be in Atlanta Mar. 23-26 and would like to check out the nightlife.

I'm mostly interested in big clubs with a college crowd. Not trance, just regular hip-hop where you can dance and there's lots of college age people.

What are the best choices, Fri. and Sat. nights?

Also, is this a good hotel (location-wise) to stay in, or is it far from all the action?
Georgia Tech Conference Center & Hotel, Georgia Tech, ZipCode 30332 (Midtown?)

thanks a lot

Sounds like you're looking for one nighters? :haha:

That, my friend, would be the Buckhead area of Atlanta. Ask for the Buckhead bars area. It's a madhouse Friday and Saturday night. Most of the clubs play a combination of top 40s dance and hip hop. I hope you have good game because all the other guys will be your competition.

If you want a huge club with hip hop, try Visions, Compound, and Club 112. Bring a nice shirt and cash to go with your game. The places are full of scenesters and a slightly more sophicated version of the Buckhead crowd.

Well lets see.... Your conference center is kind of on the border between Downtown and midtown... Best bet is to head to Vision on Saturday night http://www.visionsaturday.com . You could also check out Compound, http://www.compoundatl.com/, which is a hiphop/EDM club with different rooms for each. If you want the meat market, you could head to any bar/club in Buckhead like Tongue and Groove or Frequency, http://www.ikesnightlife.com/. I have not been down there in years but it used to be the place to get laid plus Buckhead has many different clubs in a few blocks so I am sure you would find one that tickles your pickle... Whatever you do, just stay away from Underground Atlanta.

The Georgia Tech Center would be fine to stay in. I hvae never been there but it appears to be OK.

Hope that helps...

Some conversational starters for an out of towner...

1. Comment on how many streets named "peachtree" there are.
2. Comment on how much traffic sucks in general.
3. Ask a chick why they think there are so many blondes in the south.
4. Or ask where they are from because it seems like there are more transcient people living in Atlanta than natives.

EDIT: If you wanna see how racist southerners can be, give them a discriminatory head start on Mexicans. Everyone has something to say about Mexicans in Atlanta.

Haha, well thanks a lot for your recommendations! :) I appreciate it.

So Visions isn't that good on Friday nights then? In that case I'll try Buckhead.

Vision is better on a Saturday... But I have not been there since they re-did the club a few months ago.. Stick with Saturday there and you can not go wrong...

Vision is a nice meat market club but there aren't too many college types in there. It's more a young professionals crowd.

the georgia tech conference center is a great place to stay

lots of chill little bars down there, and in the heart of midtown ;)

liike everyone is saying, i'd check out buckhead, there's a million and one places to go and lots of chicas ;)

if you wanna see a NICE club tho, 4 rooms, TONS of peeps (2500 person capacity) and lots and lots of horny girls... check out compound ;)

either way, you're a 10 minute taxi ride to everything, so you should be set :thepirate
