No he didn't preach violence. And yes, the "religious establishment" is totally corrupt. Plus, you don't need to fan to any flames to get Middle Easterners upset with the West. The West does a fine job of that on their own. Ofcourse, the Mullahs fan the flames to distract Muslims from problems at home (mainly the corrput power structure, lack of decent infrastucture, lack of education etc.). The "religious establishment" is there to keep the masses ignorant and stupid, and out of the Goverments' way. Although the masses frustration with external factors effecting them adversly is legitemate, the focus of anger is usually directed at someone external party by the "religious establishment." |

Very interesting post. Took a long time to read it, but it was definately worth it. As it mentioned in your posting about the Muslim Religion growing because of the high population growth rate. Absolutely true, especially with several muslim countries in Sub Saharan Africa having the worlds highest birth rates ( even though they cant feed the children there ). At the same time the population of Christians will likely remain stable or decline, with the very low birth rates in most of Europe & the fast declining birth rates in Latin America as people whether they like the U.S. or not, are more and more living the American way of life, and have many of the same worries such as the cost of education for their children. The number of Jewish people will likely also decline as I did read in Newsweek about a year ago that inter marriage is the biggest threat to the religion. As for the Religions in the far east, most of those countries either have already low birth rates, especially China & Japan, or birth rates that are declining.
So being that Islam is the worlds fastest religion. That certainly doesnt convince me in any way that I need to convert to Islam. Current World Events have made it certain that I will never be Muslim. While I am really discusted with alot of people who call themselves Christians whether bad priest, corrupt government officials, scam artist, or greedy televangelists, that is nothing compared to people who blow themselves up thinking they're going to be rewarded with virgins for killing people. They'll end up looking for the virgins in the firey pits of hell. |

I agree with most of replies here. Religion today has influences all over the world and cetrainly has change many many things.This is smth that started 6000 years ago and will continue till god's will, comes upon the earth.
I view myself everything more in a scientific way, and my vision ends with a God. And i think everyone will end there one day. Doesnt matter what religion it is, its a progression. As the world advances, more things are revealed. I will leave God decide what he is going to do and let us know what the truth is, since humans arent so good keeping the truth.
My message would be, use your brain to think what is the right thing to do. Think that ur brain is limited and there are things that you cant see in your future. Dont blame God if ur life goes wrong because thats a consequence of your own decisions that u made in the past. Believe with head and not with heart since your head controls everything.
Certainly calling for fight and war and forcing to do things its not the truth. but when it comes to holy books i would say remember when u were studing literature and ur friends had different opinions from yours. Well a book is a source of discussion wether what is that the author had in mind saying that.
I would say the truth will come one day and may God do justice. |

the difference between that is modern teachings and how Sultan points their backwardness. also, intermarriage isn't a big deal to most Jews because it's an ethnicity to most so it's like a black marrying a white person their child still carries on the blood line of both. hard to understand but if you do more research on it it'll become evident. another thing is that christianity isn't that united AT ALL. protestants and catholics fight all the time, BUT muslims believe in the ummah, meaning their unity in islam, so if there's an aggression to one group of arabs it's an aggression towards the whole muslim world. when the US or London or Spain are attacked the pope doesn't come out and say all Judo-Christians must unite and destroy the nonbelievers...but what the hell wafa sultan has said most of this already :p |
