yeah. I hardly consider the waltons evil since they really don't care about thier own wealth as much as people think. Sam used to drive a pick up truck with his dogs in the back seat. They didn't purchase a fully owned jet until they were doing over 1 billion in sales and even then they bought it used.
They employ thousands of workers who have a realatively high sense of moral. profit sharing to wages percentage is pretty good (ie complain all you want that they make a fortune and pay thier employees nothing but if you look at what would happen if they dished out even another 10 cents an hour to every employee the company would be no where near as competitive and would lose its egde, in other words they pay almost as high as they can).
They also contribute to economic booms in areas where they set up shop. Look at the studies from UBC which looked at how economic regions do before walmarts vs after... those figures can also be found in a back issue of Macleans from earlier in the past year. |

On another note, if you check out the Forbes site it will show where all these billionares are located, kind of interesting to see, there are still very few self-made billionares. Most out of the total 100 got it out of inhereting companies/shares so on. |

Just looked at the top 50, i'm at work so will look at the rest later.. but pulled out good excel and went through them one by one..
Actually turns out out of the top 50 -- 25 are Self-Made and 25 are inherited based on Forbes site.
