Cameras allowed @ events?

Finalizing all of our travel plans now for the big Miami trip, and the subject of cameras came up. Is there a restriction to bringing a small digital camera to events during WMC? I'm talking specifically Ultra, the Wet Grooves Beach Party@Nikki, Tiesto@Mansion, and Juicy Music@Opium Gardens.

| you won't have a problem at wetgrooves. ultra, they say no camera's, and i've seen them make people leave them back. but i got mine in last year. user beware type deal. space you can get them in just fine but they are VERY anal about no pics there. if a bouncer sees you take a pic he'll yell at you. and i don't know about the other places b/c i haven't been there. good luck |

| just have it in your pocket when you go to walk in...and dont stick your cam in the djs face and you'll be fine lol. Ive had my cam everytime I'm at Space, and Ive never had a problem. |

Ultra's main restrictions:
"The organizers reserve the right to refuse admission to the festival site at all times
Alcohol, bottles, cans, glass, BACKPACKS, animals and sound systems may not be brought onto the festival site.
The organizers reserve the right to record, both on film and audiotape, people who attend the festival. No compensation, financial or otherwise will be offered.
It is forbidden to bring any type of recording device, neither audio or visual, onto the festival site."
Seriously, do NOT bring a backpack. They wont let them in, and there's no where to put them if you dont have a car nearby.
But does a stills camera count as a 'recording device'??
Every year bouncers say no cameras, then you ditch yours, and once inside, u see a million people with them. :whip: :whip: :whip: Not to mention they're selling disposable cameras in there. WTF? |

| They dont want people to have digital cameras because it makes it much easier for ppl to upload the pictures and spread all over the web. With a crappy disposable film camera, the pictures arent digital, plus they will take ty pictures. Most people wont bother scanning them, plus they cant be sold because of poor quality. Also, (most importantly) they make money selling disposable cameras. |

| We've taken a digital camera in the past two years. Last year each one of us had a digital camera on us and we were all allowed in. It really depends on who is searching you. Find somewhere to hide one. |

| yeah, Ultra security gave me hard time last year when i was tyring to bring in my digital camera. But I'm a foreigner so it was pretty easy to convince them to allow me to take it with me - language barrier,unfamiliarity with a city (if they send you back to the hotel to leave a camera there), and just a cute face would work. But OFFICIALLY - no recording devices are allowed. :( |
