http://dansprianu.topcities.com/home.html <- there are some pics of "Daniel" there... I can see some common features. Look at the eyes.
The pic on that page might be a old one of him.
I don't think anyone should donate any money. Do private research. |

I did some searching, and on another forum a good point was made. Doru's samples are well known by most of the internet musician community, so if any of his samples were stolen, someone would have recognized this. He would have been sued and his site brought down. Or at the least, there would have been a cease and desist order, and possibly fraud charges. OK, sure, percussion samples can sound gereric, and could be hard to prove, but the vocal samples and reason refills would be easy enough to prove. The fact seems to be that no one has been able to find any mention of Duro stealing samples. I'm assuming that he indeed did create most of them. Perhaps the Doru character was just a clever marketing scheme.
The odd thing is the shear number of samples he supposedly created. On one DVD there's 26,000. Seems it would take a person a lifetime to come up with that many samples. That seemed strange to me the first time I saw it.
Well anyway, at the worst, Doro is guilty of simple, harmless deception. If he would of claimed that some of the money for his samples was going toward cancer treatments, then you'd have a case against him. Using a false illness and persona to get sympathy purchases, is not illegal as far as I know. |

@zodiac9:
None the less, it's a scam! We should raise sanctions against him if these accusations proves to be true.
We are just to damn naive. It's so easy to pull a scam like that.
I've not yet made up my mind weather to believe it's a scam, or just a series of suspicious coincidents.
I hope we can find out the truth. As for now, let's just do research.
I have found another suspicious thing. How could "Daniel" know what forums "Doru" was a member of?
He has posted the same messages on most of the public music forums. All with "Doru's" account. Weird, or just me being too suspicious? |

| i have found that alot of you have made good fidings and that many are valid in discovering the truth. thats the only reason why i havent made my mind up, funny thing is i felt a bit odd i was turning a blind eye to this case being suspicious. but really i shouldnt you have to be back to reality these scams are happening all the time. now i dont feel so bad after all as thinking its a scam with all this evidence provided. |

that is indeed a very good point.
i'm going with option b from Dezma's post at the moment.
luckily i didn't buy any samples.. the thought briefly occured to me, but it just didn't feel right. |

| I believe it was a scame aswell. Having had various members of my family die of cancer, i can safely say for the most part the would rather noone knew up it, and would only bring it up if they have too. They would rather people treat them equally and not as "the person with cancer". To me this just a scam playing on our empathy, and isnt a dance music forum the perfect place to play on ones empathy ;)(drug related). |

Any way that you look at this, it is sad. Either a good person died, or we've all been fooled by a shyster.
Unfortunate. :( |
