i'd be glad if a devout christian person died. by their book at least, they're going to paradise. so why shouldn't i be glad. there is no certainty about what happens after death. death could be better or worse or the same as life. the only things we know about death is that it is the end of life, and that everyone dies eventually. beyond that, nothing is known with enough certainty about it to mark everyone who is glad for it wrong. true, he went long before the average mortality age of his time and place, but what if death brought him more happiness than he could ever find in life? should you not be happy for his death then? well?
further, you can't really provide a valid reason why everyone should feel bad because this person died, even if before his time. people die in worse ways and earlier every day, people you've never heard of and never will hear of. does pretending you're a good person by paying your 'respects' to this stranger from the internet make you feel better about yourself for ignoring the many others who you have no remorse for not caring about? this guy has real friends and family in his life who will mourn his passing, hold a funeral, cry about it, and all that good stuff, as do each of us. that's as much as most people will ever get in death. why should this guy be extra special? |

I would also like to point out that a lot of people on this forum will quickly choose the side of the other person when the other is someone who they dislike, regardless of whether they are right or wrong.
For example:
It seems to me that because Neo doesn't like Nou, he is more willing to take the opposite conviction to that of Nou's, simply because that is what Nou feels. Not entirely because that is Neo's personal convictions.
That seems pretty silly to me. Why don't people put their judgements aside and think for themselves for a little while?
I do not like or dislike Nou. However, I know that it probably is not good for my standing to side with Nou. Yet, I don't give a rat's ass, and why? Because I am stating what my conviction is, and it just happens to be similar to Nous. That is what it comes down to. |

Thats what differeniate COR from PDD.
People dont take sides like here in COR and speak their own convictions. |

you do have a point there, there's lots of people dying all the time that we never hear of. still, saying you're glad he's dead or anything similar is absolutely distasteful and it's not a big effort to write a "RIP". |

| Perhaps people should seek to be more careful regarding which specific personal and potentially controversial thoughts and opinions they share, especially when a subject as sensitive as death is involved. Whatever you feel, is it really so necessary to speak your mind in situations where it's obvious that by doing so you'll upset others? Oh wait, apparently it is. Before you take a swipe at DickRenegade, perhaps you should assess the general mentality and value of your own posts. |

whatever i said has nothing to do with my like / dislike of nou.
i honestly believe that when certain ppl die its a godsend to the rest of us.
like my example of Hitler, that was just an example of someone known to all of us that caused more celebration than misery because he died.
Dick could have been a nice person in real life but thats no reason to cause upset on an internet forum just because he could.
You would think that a real life dr would also show the same kind of respect and compassion for users of a forum as he would his paitents than turn into the complete oppisite and find joy in abusing ppl on the internet.
That does not seem like a type of person i would like as my Dr!! |
