I don't know if it's a symptom of a bigger cause, but I'm not too impressed so far with the UMF act this year. This is my first UMF, but it seems (from a marketing/publicity standpoint) to be a comedy of errors. A promised DVD.....not delivered. A band lineup that lives up to past events....not delivered. An updated web site where all of the links to things like "community" and "UMF Memories" actually work.....not delivered. It's less than two weeks now to UMF8, and this kind of perceived disorganization does not give me a ton of confidence before I embark on our $2000 trip for two and use the $600 in concert tickets for Ultra and the Carry On we bought.
Has this been the case in the past for UMF? It just seems to me like the organizers are copping out by relying on the fact that people are going to buy tickets no matter what, just because it is UMF. A little effort goes a long way......... |

| ultra is never on time, it took a long ass time before anyone finally confirmed there was even going to be a ultraNYC. dont stress it, im sure youll have a good time and hear some good music while youre down. if not theres always space |

| Notice how GG responds to posts, Wetgrooves responds to post, ULTRA doesn not. Links arnt working, no DVD as promised, bad acts (IMO). Its weak that they dont try to connect with those going to give them info and what not. You would think as a marketing technique the dvd would have been out already to pump people for this evenr.NOPE! |

Are you going to the Carry on? I'm kind of pissed off that I bothered to buy tickets, the lineup sux. |

yeh you know what, I could have lived with the lack of stellar lineup this year if Ultra had come through on connecting with the peeps.. but that is NOT the case. No complete website, promoters dissapeared after they couldnt live upto the HYPE. No DVD. Weak Carry On lineup after hyping it so much.
I doubt I will be going to carry on, but the best bet if your going is if Tenaglia spins.. It would actually be better if he did almost the whole night.. his sets can get devastating.. oh well |

Yeah, I'm going to the Carry On as well. Not too happy with the lineup, either, although I am looking forward to RITM and Circo Loco on the terrace. |

| Guys take a bit of the chill pill. Whats the rush with having the DVD RIGHT NOW!! its nothing out of this world tbh. They do say on their flyers to keep an eye on the DVD, that they will be delivered as soon as they go on release. As for the festivals announcements. Well its always been the case.. as for the Carry on, BAD move on those that bought the ticket before the line up was even released. Im not bothering going to Carry On because its not worth it FOR me, id be hitting other party's all week all nights, and that night I will need the sleep. AS for their websites updating, its always been the same year after year. Sometimes they dont even complete some sections. For me the best organized Ultra was 5. But since this year we have the guy thats been behind woodstock coachella and others.. I expect it to be on that caliber. Just dont worry. AS for infected mushrooms to get prime slot, I doubt it. Not many people follow their music here, unless you are jewish or israeli which is what you get to see on their shows when they perform. Good Live set for the beginning of the day. Just get there early and relax. |

| IM is the leading psy act in the world, though many dont consider them psy. They headline everywhere and have huge fan bases. Like Brazil and Australia and Japan. I love psychadelic trance and i agree it doesnt have that strong of a name in the states as it does in the world, but i hope they dont get shafted liked last year. At least have them play around 6. They will help sell out wetgrooves day 2 since they are so kick ass |
