only ones I can think off stay within reasonable BPM (130-145 or so) and make the last track something that Tempes also has so he can take over from there...

| Hi, i was just wondering how this will work, has everyone got fast connections, to broadcast? And i am a 56k user, so i will need to just listen to this, and find the time, also will the mix be available to download? |

Just a quick comment,
I see no reason for the last track played by the previous DJ being a track that the next DJ must have. Just play any track for your last track and let it run out until the end, then the next DJ just starts his mix beatmatching to that last track as it plays out. :D |

thats what i intend to do...
i'm gonna start mixing from the end of the 60 minute mark with a track of my own with beatmching just like a regular mix.
this will mean i'll have to download like 90mb and listen to a 60 minute track before i start but hey, everything for TA :) |

Alright, given antiphus had gone to rosemontags we can all excuse ƒº anywayz on to business. Antiphus you have until midnight Sunday to get me the mix so I can take on from there. We don¡¦t want this to be any long, drawn out thing and it¡¦s only a 20 min set. We want to be fair in the time we give the Djz considering personal life etc. I think we can all agree 5 days is enough to spin a 20 min set and send it to the next dj. (This goes for everyone) If anyone of the finalist cannot complete it in that time ¡§PM¡¨ me or neo and let us know. We will then move up the previous dj to follow you to take your place and chose the next most voted dj in the poll. There are absolutely no exceptions to this rule. I or neo included. If you do not have your mix in at on the designated time you will be bumped and the next DJ WILL take your place.
Also just to remind everyone, we are not going for how many tracks you can mix in 20 minutes. We want this to be a nice smooth cd. For instance if antiphus opened with hard and I took ova with soft mediocre trance it wouldn¡¦t work. We have to work together on this mix. Listen to the previous dj(s) set and see where to go from there.
Everyone is responsible for setting up webspace/ftps or e-mail accounts where they can send a 20 min 320bit mp3 file to the next dj they are going to send to. For information sake a 20min set encoded @ 320kb is about 45-48MB we have to find a standard for encoding.
I am going to go out and ask we use lame. I have a front end that I can send to everyone that is very easy to use with all the options set and ready to encode. If anyone has a better encoder or ideas let us know.
We are using 320bit files from dj to dj for those of you concerned with sound quality issues. Final mix will be sent to me and neo. Lets work hard at this because if it is good enough it will be posted on ta for download as the first ever official ¡§TA hot mix¡¨ that isn¡¦t the official name but we¡¦ll all work on it soon as he mix is done. And please no bitching about the name of it yet. Let¡¦s start that when the mix is actually done l8z Tempest |

sounds good. So we're all gonna use "--alt-preset insane" settings with LAME? Gives a CBR 320 kbps file...
