| Dude you should get them taken out SOON. I just got mine out a little over two weeks ago, all four. The two on the bottom were impacted. I just had an infection last week, but I went on saturday and got some anti-biotics and it's a little bit better now. But seriously...if it starts hurting like that...you need to get them out. |

| I've had the same thing since Wed:( It hurts like a bitch, haven't really been able to sleep much, and eating is a nightmare. I don't have to get mine taken out, it's just that theyre pushing the gums up and making room to come out. Apparently I have an infection, so I'm taking antibiotics now, maybe you should consider taking them too... |

Toothache = agony. This is something i know a lot about. If it's an abcess, the pain will go away in time, then come back worse, then go away, and so on until the pain is constant and unbearable.
Any neat alcohol will help to dull the pain. You don't even need to swallow it, just hold it in your mouth over the sore area (though I usually did jsut swallow it too as it helped me sleep). Ibroprofen is the best pain killer in my experience.
Non-drug solutions are some of the most effective - like clove oil (you can get a wee bottle really cheaply from the chemist). Rub it on to the tooth to numb the tooth, avoiding gums/tongue as it stings (it does really stink though). One of the most effective methods is to use a hot water bottle. put it inside your pillow, then the painful side down on to the pillow - this really does soothe the pain.
You don't say why you haven't gone to a dentist yet. I hope you're not phobic like me. If you are, then look for a dentist that offers sedations. |

| Thats why I put it off...Im phobic. That and the recovery time will dip into a planned weekend so Im hoping I can get it to stop hurting for a couple weeks then I can get them taken care of. |

Phobias are by definition irrational, but the strangely logical thing is this: Dentist phobics don't go to the dentist because the fear is greater than the pain they are going through. When the pain comes to exceed the fear, then (and only then) will the phobic go to the dentist. |
