I live about 30 min drive outside of Toronto, so my friend was gonna drive us there, but than he got all scared of the forecast of the freezing rain. So we had to take the GO Train, when we got to the Tower Records it was aprox. 9:10pm we just missed Tiesto spining a short set at the Tower. I walked up to him and than it hit me I forgot the photo camera in the car of my friend. (I was cursing my self like crazy), I gave Tiesto "In Search of Sunrise 2" he signed it and I asked him whether he could do a huge favour for me. He said sure, so I asked him to play "Yahel - Going Up (Magikal Remake)" and he kept his promise. It was one of the songs that ppl really went nuts to! I was standing right at the front (tall guy in the vest with green t-shirt). Anyway I shook his hand at the Tower and asked him when his new songs are gonna be officially release of "Flight 643" and "Urban Train". He said that they will come out at the end of march begining of April. I asked him of where he thought the trance was moving towards. He said that he thinks it will become more melodic and will not be as progressive. He was very nice, great guy, great DJ!
We left after they took Tiesto to the lower level to meet the winners of some contest. (I think these were the ppl that were standing on the side of the stage to the left and right of the DJ.)
When we got to the Docks the weather was y. We got in and it took us at least 40 mins to get to the coat check. Than it was aproximately 11pm we got closer to the stage and Hibernate played a live P.A. It was very nice! :)
Than Carbonel came on I did not like his set too much in the begining so we took of to the chillout room. I had a couple of revs and we went back and got to the front of the stage, where I left my vest. Surprisingly nothing was missing from it. I had like $100 in cash and my ID and debit card in there. So guy was so ing drunk he could barely stand and bumped into everyone. I got one guy to save me a spot but everyone was pushing and you could barely stand at the front of the stage. My friend got pushed out to the back as he is not very tall. So ppl at the front were just so ing enoying at the front. Grafal!!!!!!!!!! was it you I was standing next to all through out the set?????????
The show started of great wit fireworks and the whole light show. The crowd was great, except for a few exceptions. I like Tiesto's set much better than Paul Van Dyk's from two weeks before. But Tiesto played so very dark and hard stuff (it was kind of y) but I went nuts when he played my request he looked at me and smiled. The set was one of the better one I heard in a long time, but I also expected a little more out of it. He did not really play anything new. Not even his new remix of "Delerium - Innocent". My friend took some "E" and was triping after the set in the chill out room at around 6 pm. At around 7 we went to get our coats and stood in the line up for an hour. We got to the GO station at around, 8am and had to wait for it to open. I got home at around 9:30am and went to sleep at around 10, at 1pm I had to get up and go to work.
Over all I think it was a good set, Tiesto was really please so was most of the crowd. It was a good venue, the promoters knew what they were doing. The best idea was the free fruit! The washrooms were nice, no line-ups. I am still very tired as I barely got any sleep today. I am just waiting to see some photo's from the party. |

Mkay.
Let's say... It was good.
Problem is, I only showed up at about 4:30am. And I was one of those knobs who shoved right up front. I was the tall guy in navy cargos, a green shirt, and a red t-shirt. The one who went nuts...
The best part was going up on stage. Talking to the DJs in' owned.
Tiesto was good, Orkidea was sweet, and Jupiter July One dropped some nice tracks.
I wanted to go see Viceroy spin, but I kinda zoned out till 8am. Didn't even know time had passed.
Hope you all got sleep. I must go find bed now! =) |

Damn, Tiesto is great, didnt get to see hybernate. Were they good??
The night would of probably have been better if there was more dancing instead of walking through the crowd. Me and some buddies will post some pics soon for all you people that were at the front, you might see yourself. Was wearing all orange, see me??

*WOW* what a night. First I like to thank Nick, Andre, Carmen and all the SonicState and Phlux crew for a such a memorable evening. I'm sure this party will never be forgotten. Last night made such an impact on so many people's lives, I'm sure most people walked away with a smile on their faces and a memory that will stay in their hearts forever. I, amoung the hundreds of people there were so amazed by how everything went, from decor, sound, lights, pyro, music, performance and vibe, it was just unbelievable.
This is how every party should be in TO, and I think we raised the standard for sure. Man you guys just spoiled us.
No offense, to a particular company in NY, but I just got back from there, where I attended a party at the Tunnel. Very disappointed from that experience. I was so happy to be back in Toronto and to party Toronto style and be with my fellow Torontonians. It's only when you leave Toronto that you truely appreciate that Toronto really delievers quality. And last night proves just how amazing production can be; Sonicstate you rock my world!
Tiesto; This was my first time seeing him, and boy he deserves all the hype! The energy just radiated from the crowd and filled the venue. I was just in totally awe when people start chanting his name over and over. I thought a night at Twilo was pretty hype when the crowd starting to chant John Digweed's name. I never seen a thing like this before; The crowd just loved him, and he gave them what they wanted. This was on a grand scale the best experience I've had at any party. I wonder how Tiesto felt up there that night. Pretty darn good i'm sure.
Orkidea; Sweet ass set, loved it. I don't usually like progressive, but I liked his style, such smooth mixing, it was just beautiful. We'll be seeing more of this guy i'm sure. Having the pleasure to meet him, he is such a humble and sincere Dj. That's what i like to see.
Viceroy- from the 15 mins i heard of this guys set. It was hype. He got the small intimate crowd melting in his hands with his selection of melodic trance. Very sweet
AMG, Warrick , kick ass, wish i could have spent more time in the sonic/phlux room. And to all the other djs that i missed, from what i heard they delivered their best and rocked the place. Original Recipe, nice touch to the chill out tent, they were were saviory and full of flavour.
Props to the whole wintergalactic team, you guys did an amazing job with everything, all the hard work truely paid off. Next year will be even better!!!

Just got back to Pittsburgh from my vacation up to Toronto. Lemme just say that Tiesto's set was absolutely, amazingly insane. For those of you that think otherwise, ... you obviously are very very spoiled with good dj's. The laser was freakin nuts and the sound was perfect for the hard beats that tiesto spun. The man mad technical skills and he knew how to read the crowd. The only thing i hated about the party was the stupid coat check. It took longer to hang up your coat than to get into the damned place!
Anyway sorry to be back in crappy crappy pittsburgh :( I'll always have fond memories of the Peel Pub, Smokeless Joe's, Reilly's pub, and the keg. |

Hey Everyone*
Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who made my night an unbelieveable experience. It was my first party and I must admit it definately won't be my last. Everyone made me feel at home; the crowd was amazing. Tiesto was unreal, definately one of my fave dj's. I would definately go to see him again. Skydive was amazing~
Special thanks go out to people I met last night. Jen and Mike especially, who make me feel at ease! Thanks for sticking by me Jen! Your Tiesto Sign story made me laugh. That frog sticker has left a nasty red mark on my face, but its just a happy reminder of how amazing you two were. The friendly fireman helped me out so much. Thanks for the sucker, water and Mr. Freezy. Keep on dancing man. Also, thanks for the bracelets everyone, they're definately keepsakes! I'll remember to bring ones for you next time. By far the liquid dancer made my night. You were amazing.
I'll never forget my night guys! Thanks for making me feel incredible. Definately a life long memory. You only live once and I'm glad I lived an unforgetable night with you!

viceroy, its funny that u should ask that, cus its been on my mind a lot lately..
it is/was my dj name.. i came up with the name about a year ago.. liked the definition of the word flux, and tosed in the old 'ph' phor kicks.. it worked, i had a eureeka! moment..
i had the opposite type of moment(if that makes any sense), when my buddy who works at sunrise told me he was selling tickets to a rave, setup by phlux productions..
the company is getting pretty big now.. i hate not being original-(the aquarius factor),, i dunno what to do..
eh trancearmada, i was stuck at union too.. did one of your frieds by any chance have bunny ears on??

| Hey man, I saw that huge german guy steal ur glowsticks at the front. He was right beside me man...I was one of those people who knew what song it was before everyone else did. I was wearing a white t-shirt with white flood pants but made them into shorts with white runners and a black vest.If anyone saw me tell me. I was front row centre ALL during Tiesto and Carbonell. |
