Looks like JP's moved his way up the ladder to strip club DJ.

| he needs a better manager. The guy placed really high in this year's Top 100 DJ's poll, and its not like the guy has no talent or anything. i don't get why he hasn't broken out of the tri-state area. maybe if he did he would start drawing better crowds locally. |

Actualy from what I've heard hes a pretty DJ...and judging by the amount of equipment he requires, its really quite a joke. |

I'm assuming you have never heard him live then if you are going by what other people have said.
I don't know what the amount of gear he uses has anything to do with him being a joke...James Zabiela is currently using the same exact setup...2 cdjs, MIDI equipped mixer, Powerbook, Ableton, and an FX box.
JP is very technical and can do a lot more behind the decks than most of the big named djs out there now. he draws a horrible crowd and often has to play to cater to that crowd, thats the main knock on him, not that he is a dj. |

Actually, from what Clovis said in a thread last week, he uses more equipment that Zabiela, or at least did in his LA gig with Victor Dinaire. |

I dunno...but theres no need ever for 4 instances of ableton live running at once. Its just absolutely useless. |

according to who? Clovis from TA?
he uses 2 laptops, same as a lot of other djs / acts. Most clubs come standard with 3 cd decks and 3 TT's. he doesn't use TT's anymore so he uses laptops. so what.
I'm by no means a JP fan, but most of the criticisms of the guy are done by people "who have heard" things about him. Get off the bandwagon and form your own opinion of the guy. |
