How do you get gigs? (In Providence)

| Ive been fooling around with djing for the past couple of years, but have only played a few house parties. I would like to do a few smaller bars or clubs and get my feet wet but I have no idea who to contact. I went to one place andhanded them a demo. They told me that they only go through an agency. The guy wasn't very cooperative so I wasn't able to get any contact information on the agency. If anybody is around the Providence area and knows this stuff Id be very appreciative of some help. |

there are prob. people that can help you a lot more than me, but i'd just try hitting up as many places as possible (at the very least you might get some leads and meet people).
providence has a load of lounges and some normal clubs like ultra, the complex, or therapy. the guys at groovefire have done a lot of events around providence and newport (i vaguely recall seeing them spin at a lounge called tantric) so they might be able to offer you some advice.
