| I've been spending too much money on blueprints lately, so i've decided to buy a plotter of my own. Problem is, i know nothing about plotters. I've looked around and found them ranging from a few hundred (used on eBay) to many thousands. What i need is something that can print in B&W and handle up to 34x44". As far as i know, that's the only requirement, assuming the other operating parameters (speed, etc) are reasonable. So um, what should i buy? What brand? Is used alright? What features should i look for? Any specific ink, etc? |

don't know a TON about plotters, but I have used them.
Personally I'd stay away from used, based on the fact that I've had some bad experiances especially with printers but also other computer stuff.
Ink choice comes down to how often you are going to be using it. Inkjet typically has decent life, as long as you are using it regularly (bc Ink dries out). From what I've heard HP makes decent plotters, and most of thier prices are pretty reasonable. Epson has always treated me really well as far as printers are concerned, and based on what I've seen they have some awesome plotters too.
I know it's probably not that much help, that that's my opinion. |
