Reason on Laptop

I'm getting ready to trade my desktop in for a laptop and was wondering if anyone else uses Reason on a laptop and what specs are working for them. I know definitly I need at least a Gig of Ram, but not sure how much Ghz I should get. I know I should shoot for the highest I can afford. Just wondering if 1.6 Ghz + 1 Gig of Ram will be sufficient. This is assuming I don't use the laptop for much else, no games...ok maybe Starcraft once in a while...hehe

ive got a 1.73 and it does the job no worries. But i do mostly house theses days and thats mostly samples + the odd vst here and there so not as resource intensive as trance.

Projects that JUST ran on my XP2400 run fine on this... bit of a comparison there ;P

whatever you do, dont get a notebook with a 2.5 ghz p4 CPU that was specificaly made for a desktop but wired into a laptop by the tiwaneeze...:whip:
unless you like loozing hours of work from the overheat/autoshutdown withought the savage...

that computer will do for reason. reason doesn't really take alot of cpu. i used to run it on a laptop alot worse than that one, with no complaints. reason ftw

I have 1.4 Ghz & 1 Gig RAM on my iBook G4 with Reason 3, works fine! & being a Graphic Design student I have a lot of applications on it! and Starcraft! :)
Fundamental
I'm using a laptop with 512Mb of RAM, and it was fine with Reason 2.5, but since I upgraded to version 3 it's been struggling with those Combinator patches I keep making.

Plus it's lost sound on the left channel, the keyboard is faulty, disc drive is tempremental, power button has collapsed and the monitor doesn't like to switch on. So I think it's had enough and needs replacing.

Soon, but I'll cope for now. :D

I agree, it's a very well coded program.
Only time my CPU maxes out is if I use lots of synths (Some of my tracks have more than 30 in them and work fine) and RV7000 devices.
