iv seen em both.. used a 600, never used the 62 but i read allot about em both while researching mixers.. i wound up getting a vestax due to $$ issues...
but anyway the main difference is how you mix. the style and the type of music..
the 62 has a 4 channel EQ which is cool because it gives you a wider mixing ability, but you won't notice this at a amateur level. other than that things are more or less normal.. i think you can custom change the fader, if i remember correctly (i very well may not), but most trance mixers don't use a fader anyhow. i'm not sure what other diff advantages it has, but i know its a quality mixer
the 600 is 3 channel.. and its main advantages are it has effects, bpm, and a 3 select fader.. like i said fader doesn't matter much.. bpm is kindof dumb cuz it only has 1 bpm so u can't see the two records bpm's side by side.. but you shouldn't be using a bpm anyway. the effects are kinda cool, and its nice that they are built in. I don't like effects tho, cuz i don't think they are very musical. but i know house djs like it allot..
basicly, if ur an amateur (as most of us are =) and your looking for a good mixer with bpm to help you out at times, and effects to screw around with go for the 600. otherwise i'd say get the 62 cuz when you get experienced at mixing i think the 4 channels will help you out even more, and the mixer itself is damn quality.
personally i'd say go for the 62, but i don't like effects or bpm or any of that.

very well done dazzed, but you forgot to mention that the Xone has 1 effect also. and while it is only 1 effect, it kills anything Ive heard from a 600. Its the VCF filter, and its got a hi pass, loss pass and notch pass(I think thats what its called) these are soo musical and drive me wild, it sounds like they have em in the song too many times by kai tracid. sooo nice.
the A&H also has better construction, vertically mounted boards as opposed to horizontal in the 600(so that any spillage runs off) and the sound quality from an A&H is much better than from a 600. A&H makes some of the finest audio equip in the world. This is for sure one of em |

k... mostly said it all..
im gonna get the 600 mixer from pioneer.. altough im not going to use that crap effects & bpm..
its 4 channels not 3...
the allen & heath os a very strong build mixer with one of the best qualitys out there.. its for more expirenced DJs as said b4.. i saw gielen use the 62 in TE 2001.. if u want a strong mixer that will last u go with the 62
if u feel like a starting out with a nice small mixer mixer i'd go with the pcv - 175 from vestax
saves u money & its worth it
pioneer 600 is a gr8 mixer 2 dont get me wrong.. its simple with eq for each channel
looks good & has effects
its really up 2

If i had the money i'd get the 62..
but the prices are the thing.
pioneer djm600 - about 1000+
vestax pcv275 - 400 or so (my mixer)
a&h - xone 62 1200 or so...
honestly if you are in the 1grand price range already i'd get the 62.. but also when spending that much money keep in mind don't blow it cuz your gonna need to spend allot on records.. i'd say after 1 year of mixing, of which 7 months i really actually mixed (first 5 months i didnt take it seriously).
i spent 1 grand on tables, 250 on a ty djm-300, 400 on an effects box, 300 on needles. i realized the effects were useless (esp since i couldn't beat match yet!) so i sold that and the mixer and got a vestax, and a coffin so i could bring it all to school. so i'v spent about 2 grand on my setup.. then i've spent id say 3-4 grand already on records!!! but i'm pretty damn broke right now
just remember u need $$ for records too! |

tiesto live @ dance valley
pvd live @ love parade
&
gielen live @ te 2001
both tiesto & pvd used the pioneer djm 600
& gielen used the allen & heath 62
i think more clubs, etc.. use Pioneer
i think allen & heath is 4 big events such as te , innercity
etc.. |

Pioneer DJM-600 Mixer is a good choice
Yet A&H Are well known as the best mixers in the world.
I Suggest you start off with the Vestax PCV-175 mixer, I Have it.
It has a full equalizer for each channel, fully adjustable headphone monitoring system,
it looks great and it produces massive sound with great quality.
DJ-Energy:
Its definitley not "A nice small mixer"
Its Large and it also has entries for effects processors.
All and all the PCV-175 is well worth the money, it costs a little less than 600 dollars here in israel. |

ok, I live in the netherlands, en gielen used a djm600 at trance energy september 2001 (i was there), and at trance energy they used a Dateq LPM 7.3 (i have this baby 2, the only problem for some people me be the price, $1400,-) but i think u can mix with both mixers....

personally i think its the best bet to buy a quality but simple mixer, then just get some practice here and there on the special features of other mixes..
that way if u wind up with an american dj 2 channel mixer u can still tear things up (ahahahaaaa).
and if u get a chance to use a nice mixer you can still tear things up.. im just sayin u don't wanna rely on kill switches or an effect, then some day wind up w/o it...
