| There was once years ago I had 2 undershirts on with a hooded sweatshirt on overtop. I danced like a raving maniac, sweating buckets, for about 7 hours. My friends kept yelling at me to take off my sweatshirt but I wouldn't do it. Looking back it was kind of dumb I could easily have overheated. I was just in a zone and could not stop even for a second. |

| It wasn't for a huge period of time, but the most knackered I've ever been was when I saw Faithless. I'd been paintballing all morning and afternoon, and after the support band, the inevitable standing around that live music entails and two hours of absolute frenzy, I could just about raise my arms for the encore of Salva Mea, let alone keep dancing. |

I danced for 11 hours in one spot one time.
At another party (one of them 3-day raves from hell), a friend of mine danced on a beach in one spot for so long, by the end of the day he had literally danced himself into a hole in the sand about a foot deep, and people noticed this and started putting candles and things around him, building a shrine around him and dancing in a circle with him at the epicentre, feeding off his energy. It was cool.
This was in the days before 3-minute breakdowns. When you get into that kind of headspace, the TAZ, the repetitive autistic like head-motion. You never really notice how tired you are because it just never crosses your mind. It's kind of like a perpetual motion machine driven by inertia, in that once you get going its easy to just maintain that kind of intensity indefinitely....the music is literally carrying you along with it, the beat making you dance.
I don't think its really possible to get into this state anymore with today's trance...the stop-start-stop nature of the music tends to kill that inertia/momentum. You're just grooving along, and then all of a sudden the bottom drops out and everything stops and you've lost it. And once it's lost, it's hard to get things up to speed again....because then you realize how tired you are, lose interest, and wander off.
pity. |

that is an awesome story :) I can totally imagine that.
The tracks I make flow like you are talking about, because i make them live, i go on that feeling. I wish more sounded like what it used to, i completely know what you are talking about. |

It depeands on what the breakdown is.
Planisphere - NYE have one of the most amazing breakdown I have ever heared. The strings, the emotion.
Also Adagio for strings (Ferry Corsten REmix) keeps me going nuts after the break too.
Arome - Hands Up (Scot Project Remix) - Amazing piece of work from a crappy cheese producer.
The only things like from him is the Arome remixes that he makes (including some other remixes too, but just a bit of those).
Here I can't argue with you, it's a matter of taste.
I can get going with trance, house, breakbeat, lol even reggaton (although the music is ) just for the laughs of it :wtf:
Oh and btw, those guys were on drugs right?
EDIT: Don't start the anti trance argument here too Ish.
It's not the place. |

| longest i've gone was at love parade sf last year. i went from noon to 4am, 16 hours. smoked 4 chewies, ate 2 beans, and had 4 jager-redbulls to keep me going the whole time. crashed pretty hard at 4am while ferry had another 30 min to go and just sat the rest out. almost fell asleep on the bridge driving home :o |
