Looking forward to getting back to the State! Mexico was alot of fun, but stressful. Looking forward to some seeing some familiar texas faces :)

Stressful?? Okay..I gotta story for ya.
Once upon a time me and 4 others from 2nd Battallion, 5th Marines went down to Tijuana. While staggering around Revolucion blvd after hitting 5 clubs and drinking loads of alcohol. One Marine gets harrassed by one of the crooked policia or federales(sp) for reasons unknown (cop was speaking in spanish very rapidly). The cop grabbed his cell phone cuz he couldnt afford the bribe, and another devildog comes up and gets the cop in a headlock while the first guy grabs his phone back. The headlock incident gets the attention of the nearby policia and we all scatter using the phones to rally back at the border. So what started out as a weekend vacation, turned into a damn survival mission to make it back to the border before getting kidnapped behind enemy lines.
As our company commander put it "If you get taken POW in Tijana, the US Marine Corps cant invade Mexico to rescue you."
Now that my friend, was stressful :) True story..thought I'd share. |

| Whoa Matthias that story is super intense!!! Glad you made it back to tell the story. So out of no where Ryan aka Racing4hoes comes into the computer labs and starts telling me about tonights event. I just bought my tickets WEWT!! Tonight is going to own up. |

So much for the "halls of Monteczuma" line in the anthem, eh? One would think having conquered Mexico City once already, the Marine Corps would have a plan on file well in advance in the event of Mexico acquiring US POWs during drunken fights with local cops. :happy2: |
