My NYE 2004/2005 with PVD in NYC I was witness to a double stabbing.
Sometimes hits the fan... but the same happens anywhere. |

| 'Start a new thread about the top 10 clubs in Canada instead. Guv doesn't certainly have capacity for 10K but it's always overpacked when there's a headliner so maybe the bouncers think there's 10k capacity. The club was smart in combining club and afterhour hours (10-6) so they sort of get both crowds. 'Like the setup too, reminds me of Graceland, for all you Vancouverites who were lucky to experience the boom of acid house and techno in the early days. |

Guv is a sick club and has the potential to do so much more in my opinion. If they did a better job with crowd management it would make the main room so much more enjoyable. Most of the time I just can't deal with the sardine can environment anymore.
That being said Kool Haus is hands down my favourite place to party. So much space, Its like its own little world in there. I can't wait for another kh party. |

See, but as I said, to me, a club encompasses it's crowd....Without it, it's just a room with speakers, and it's that very crowd that I need a great vibe from to make me go back. Besides, when I go clubbing, I'm there 'to party' and whatever the factor that may be to make me want to go party there again is what defines a great club IMO. But not everyone is like me, so my choice in venue is different....maiking a poll like this tough to reach a consensus on. |

i was told by a guv bouncer once that on events like labour of love capacity at the guv is in and around 10k.
it was that bouncer who always works the drink door, good guy. |

I had heard the same thing... I think if you exculde the koolhaus from the guv complex then it's probably accurate. |

| yeah if you disclude the kool haus and include the patio at the docks lol..... Tiesto at the docks i beleive had aroudn 6-7k????? with the patio opened and anyone who was there would tell ya, that place was well beyond guvernemnt-style sardine cramming |

The place has pretty much no vibe! and if you don't think so you haven't experienced what a party vibe is! It's extremely pretenious and overly serious. Finally, the very rude staff they employ.
Guv isn't the biggest club in North America. Isn't the biggest that one inside the Olympic Stadium in Montreal?
Number #1 all around best club I've seen anywhere:
FABRIC
hands down the winner.
I would give another horourable mention to KoKo (London, U.K.) I just love the old opera house thing and they do it so so well. Not to mention the largest disco ball you've seen in your LIFE!!! I you not!!!
