REVIEW: DJ Dan & Lee Burridge (MIA) @ ARIA March 18th 2006 (pg. 4)

Oufff......j'ai mal partout..where to start..
My drinking fun started at 7 so by the time I got to Aria i was ripe and ready for non stop partying.I noticed the same type of shady yo yo dont know how to act in public hip hop crowd in the line as Erica did and was going crazy to get into the house room and as far away as possible from them.I think they are the main reason I dont go to Aria so often anymore and choose Stereo instead.When i finally made it into the house room Miguel Gracca was doing a very nice job of warming up the crowd ,and by the end of his set he was throwing out a few tracks that were pure gold.
Miguel did a great job IMO at putting me in the mood to break my ankles and legs on the dancefloor all nite.(I needed that, because when i found out Burridge was not showing up i was majorly pissed.Not as much as the friend i came with though..hahaha he was so pissed off and messed up he stayed like an hour before going to Circus instead.)Dj Dan is one of my favorite DJ's to see in a club and i was not impressed at all by his set.I think the situation with Dan is that Aria simply books him too much.Dan is a Dj that hasnt changed his sets that much over the years, so I think that booking him more than anyone else at Aria is not having the same pack them in like sardines effect as it did before.(I had sooo much room to dance it was crazy...good for me, bad for the club)I still enjoyed cutting a rug to his set and hopefully next time Dan visits he will play a set that is less "you are listening to mix96 live form club 1234".At least no Last Night A Dj Saved My Life....merci ...merci..i hate that f'n song:p .
Louis, you did a good job stepping in for Burridge.You have improved so much since the first time I saw you spin its incredible.I hope your
improvements continue, because if they do you have a nice future ahead of you.And colisse kill me if im wrong but I saw Louis smile!!!It was great to finally see someone behind the decks with a bit of energy.(Dan and Miguel looked like they were sleeping lmao)

Yeah well i played hockey during the day so I win....pity me:p :toothless

Hopefully the lighting guy reads this and understands that the last 2 hours should be as dark as possible. |
