| what differentiates melodic from epic/uplifting trance? |

Mmh...
I'm not an expert in that ... but I'd say that melodic trance has more vocals and isn't so uplifting and building up.
Example for epic/uplifting: DJ Tiesto - Suburban Train
Example for melodic: Iio aka Valio - Rapture (Riva Remix)
That would be my definition... |
