I heard this awesome Arch Enemy-track while driving around with a metal friend around two years ago. But it's not until today I got the crazy idea to remix it.

I'm making it just for fun and because it's something different than the usual stuff. Also it's just a (very unfinished) snippet so far, and I don't know if I'll finish it. But thought I could share it for those who might be interested.
random fact: the death grunt is done by a girl (angela gossow), for those who didn't know ;) |

Hey dude,
Considering it is an unfinished sampel I will avoid any mixdown comment :D.
I dont know the original tune, but so far the only thing I assume u added are the drums, it sounds like has potential for to be a nice remix, I like the melodies of the tune, will go to itunes, it has a nice violent vibe :D.

Yeah, I added the drums and additional electric guitars, plus some minor other elements. The difficult part is mainly how to deal with the drums of the original track :)
thanks for the comment! |

Pretty wicked stuff. I am a big metal fan myself and always love to hear electronic metal remixes.
I think you did an awesome job so far. I like the beat a lot, very energetic.
I think its pretty hard to mix a track, especially from this genre without samples, so you deserve big respect from my side.
Tell me when you're done, I'd love to hear a full version of this :) |

nice, not bad... beat matches up well and all. wish you could get rid of the excessive screaming, makes it sound a bit messy.
almost reminds me of some rob zombie stuff... just the fast beat combined with some heavy guitar riffs. a real heavy, gritty bassline would do well here. :) |

thanks for checking it out guys!
cybernetica: nice that it pleases a metal fan =) I'm not one myself to be honest, but I really enjoy the harmonies in this track!
EtherealSL: yeah, a fat bassline would be cool.. there's too much sounds at the moment though ;/ but I might give it a try. |

yo, nice industrial stuff.
like the agressive tension this one got.
the guitar sound at 0.58 is massive. would definitely build on this.
nice work. |

thanks, appreciating your comments :)
maybe I'll work on it a little more when I have time, to improve the sound etc. |

Very cool man. I'm actually working on something very similar at the moment. It's gonna be just straight techno tho.
Anywho, everything sounds pretty good. It is a bit cluttered, but theres really not a ton you can do about that. I agree a nice bassline would work well in this. I think especially in that second section it would sound nice.
Keep it up. |

tylerc: thanks! looking forward to hear your attempt too =)
several people have suggested to add a better bassline, so I'll try that out later. just afraid it'll drown in all the sounds heh. |

Hi Kaveh,
I can't say I expected this from you. It's a far cry from your usual melodic style :)
I agree about the sound being a bit messy, but as tylerc said there's not a whole lot you can do about that. Metal is imo quite a messy sounding genre anyway so I commend you for giving it a shot and making this track more-or-less as tidy as it could be, considering.
Anyway, it's definitely an interesting idea and good luck with the final result. I have to say I much prefer your usual stuff though :) - that rocks! |
