I'm trying to figure out how that "farting bass" used in "tech-house" music.

Trying to get it to work in reason, but if anyone has an idea?

i'm thinking its a low sin wav with a fast sync'd pitch mod

looking for a good, dare i say the world "phat" bass sound.

Secondly, can anyone recommend a program to synth new beats?
eg: I want to actually create the beats rather than using samples.

Not even Manual (the maker of the Vengeance sample cds) makes his own percussions.. he just finds samples and processes them a ton.

Any synth can do it, its just hard.

try to search on these boards for bren-f basslines tutorials for reason, you can find some rps that maybe will be useful for what you're asking.
(ps. with the very respect I have for you bren, don't take it as your bass sounds like farts:stongue: :tongue3 )

I'm not sure I follow. Are you talking about something like Microtonic (http://www.soniccharge.com/products)? Its pretty easy to make beats from it. I have used the demo version in the past. I don't like the sounds though. I believe I'm going to be switching over to a drum sampler like Native Instrument's Battery 2. I have the demo of that and it seems pretty powerful.

iamausername

PlasticSoul
